Make yourself as comfortable as you can….settle yourself in a nice relaxed way….if you feel the need to move around….to get comfortable….then this is ok….just be calm and relax your whole body….from your head to toes….relax as much as you can….and now allow yourself to begin to appreciate the possibility….that you can relax deeply and calmly….now I want you to take a deep breath….and hold it for a moment…and now breath out slowly….inhale and exhale….now close your eyes….and relax….feel how very comfortable your whole body is beginning to feel. Now take another deep breath and hold it….and when you let it out….let your body slowly begins to relax….concentrate on your breathing….notice the rhythm of your breathing….and relax your breathing….and now take another deep breath….this time when you release it…release all the tension in your body.…and allow yourself to completely relax.…more deeply relaxed than you have felt before….you may start to notice everyday noises around you.…but ignore them and concentrate on becoming totally relaxed…discard the noises around you….they are not important….inhale and exhale…..any stressful thoughts going through your mind can now slowly drift away….as your body and mind become totally relaxed. You now start to feel your whole body relax…focus on your eyes.…and become aware of your eyes….and all the tiny muscles in them….just feel them relax.…so you cannot open your eyes….they feel so relaxed.…so tired.…so heavy.…that you cannot open them….enjoy the feeling of the relaxation getting deeper and deeper….feel yourself winding down….all the stress is going from your body…allow the relaxation to flow to your forehead….let it flow to your cheeks….and then let it flow to your jaw….allow your jaw and lips to relax….your lips and jaw may feel like dropping a little….as you become more deeply relaxed….than you have felt before….you can feel your muscle relax….as you float.…and drift…into a deeper, deeper level of total relaxation. Let the relaxation travel into your shoulders….your left shoulder….and then into your right shoulder….feel all the tension release….it feels like a heavy weight is being lifted from your shoulders….your shoulders feel lighter…and are become more relaxed…the tension is smoothing out and feel your body letting go….this wave of relaxation flows through down your arms….your arms are feeling heavy now….relaxed….and this sense of deep relaxation ….now flows through into your finger tips….your fingers may twitch or tingle.…but this is ok….as you are becoming more deeply relaxed. The amazing relaxation now travels down to your chest….breathing in….and out…your breathing is deeper….slower….the muscles of your chest are relaxing… this feeling of peace and tranquillity….spreads down to your stomach…imagine the muscles in your stomach relaxing….and let them relax now…and with each breath you can feel the muscles relax even more. This feeling of relaxation floods down to your thighs….letting them smooth out….focussing on the relaxation your body is experiencing.…and realise how good this feels to you….this wonderful feeling travels down to your knees….and down to your calves….and flows right down to your toes….your whole body is now feeling completely relaxed from your head to toes….the feeling of total relaxation fills every part of you.…and this is a feeling you have never experienced before. Your body is totally relaxed…and you can now relax your mind…your mind can take a vacation….away from usual thoughts and feelings.…seeing them get more distant as you relax….let your mind drift….and experience a wonderful feeling of peace and tranquillity….let your mind drift….let your powerful subconscious mind….take you to a wonderful…a special place of your own…it could be a beach….or the ocean….a meadow with a stream running though it….this is your own special place….so any place is perfectly fine….hear everything around you….see everything around you….and feel everything around you in your own special place….you feel safe here….at peace….and totally relaxed….in your own special place….no one can disturb you in your own special place….so enjoy the tranquillity….this is the most beautiful place in the world to you….I am going to leave you in your special place for a moment….so let your mind drift….and totally relax. LEAVE THEM HERE FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES Imagine yourself in your special place….feel the atmosphere….and again see it….hear it….feel it….enjoy these positive feelings….and the feeling of deep relaxation….you are totally safe….and at peace….you have found your own special place and can come back here at any time that is a safe time to do so….when you think of this place you will get a flow of positive feelings run through your body….and will feel totally relaxed….you can come back here at anytime it is safe to do so….let your mind drift and enjoy your special place for a little while longer. LEAVE THEM HERE AGAIN FOR A LITTLE LONGER (1 MIN) Enjoy you special place for another moment….and then I am going to begin to count from one to ten.…as I count from one to ten you will begin to come back to full consciousness….and feel rested….and feel alert….when I get to ten you will open your eyes and feel refreshed and alert. I will now begin to count… 1....you are starting to become aware of your environment (floor, chair etc) 2.…3.…everyday noises surrounding you are coming back to you 4.…5.…half way there now…your arms and legs are starting to come back to you 6.…7.…8.…nearly there…. 9.…10.…open your eyes and come all the way back, feeling great. Excellent!
