Zeus also has another brother named Poseidon who rules the seas and earthquakes. The three brothers defeated the Titans and got control. With control the Gods became who they are. II. Body A. Names of Greek Gods/Goddesses. 1. Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty. 2. Apollo is god of the sun and music. 3. Demeter is goddess of the harvest. 4. Dionysus is god of wine. 5. Hades is god of the underworld. 6. Hermes is the god of messenger and trade. 7. Hera is the goddess of family. i. She is also the queen of the gods. 8. Poseidon is the god of the seas, earthquakes, and horses. 9. Hestia is the goddess of health. 10. Zeus is the god of the heavens. i. Also he is the master of the universe. 11. Ares is the god of war. 12. Artemis is the goddess of forest, wild-creatures, and the moon. 13. Athena is the goddess of wisdom and arts. 14. Hephaestus is the god of forge, fire, and volcanoes. 15. Iris is the goddess of the rainbows. 16. Persephone is the queen of the underworld. B. Fun facts about each god/goddess. 1. Athena was born from Zeus’s head fully grown. 2. Zeus overthrew Cronus after he swallowed his brothers. 3. Hermes leads the dead souls to Hades. 4. Persephone sacred animal is the bat. 5. Persephone symbol is the pomegranate. 6. Persephone is married to Hades. 18. Zeus is the youngest son of Cronus and Rhea. 19. Poseidon is the brother of Hades. 20. Poseidon is the brother of Zeus. 21.
