建立人际资源圈Impact_of_Globalisation_on_Managers

Another impact of globalization on managers is that in most cases it will be more favorable to use a more democratic leadership style; this implies that managers will engage in discussion with subordinates before taking decisions. Communication links will be established on the ‘two way’ principle with every opportunity for staff to respond to and initiate discussion. This can be very useful and advantageous in situations that demand a new way of thinking and will highly motivate them in various ways for example generating brilliant ideas. Moreover, managers will be giving them opportunities to show that they can be involved in such responsible processes in the organization and offering them challenging work that stretches the worker allowing a fulfillment of potential. Consequently, this will help them for future promotion prospects and self-actualization.
Also, in today’s society global managers need to consider the world not just as a collection of national marketplaces, but also as a source of scarce information, knowledge, and expertise—the main essential resources for development and diffusion of innovation worldwide. So this increasingly important capability is about using one's global presence to promote worldwide innovation and learning.
Furthermore, with globalization, the managers may have to undertake further studies so as to enhance their knowledge so that they can fairly compete with the other organizations and also to keep pace with new trends and events that will affect the organization. For instance, top managers may need to collect more information from foreign businesses for new strategies. It can be considered as being both a positive and negative point since it will help the manager to become more competent and knowledgeable for the new challenges occurring in this job but can also be very costly and time consuming especially for those who will retire in a few coming years.
Also, due to globalization, the global manager may have to focus more on the performance of the organization than on the welfare of the workers. For example, managers may increase the number of redundancies so as to reduce labor cost (business’ expenditure will fall); resulting in a rise in the amount of money the business is saving for expansion and other projects.
Globalization is a controversial concept which brings many debates and uncertainty for future. For example, the financial crisis which has struck different countries has cast doubt over the partisans of globalization. Managers are to consider this most important aspect of globalization when exercising their roles and functions even though globalization has helped many companies to progress and to considerable economic growth. But in either way, globalization can be compared to World War II because of its unprecedented effects it has over the world and the without no doubt it is the phenomenon of this century.
