Iowa Western Community College In the United States there are hundreds of community colleges to choose from; however, Iowa Western Community College is far above the rest. Iowa Western brings students from all over the world to study for all kinds of different career paths, and most importantly gives their students an open mind on a bright future. This college is one of the top rated community colleges in the United States and encourages its students to have a successful future in whatever path they decide to take. The income of a college graduate is much higher than a person who only has a high school degree. Iowa Western has many degrees to choose from for all kinds of different careers. In addition IWCC has financial aid options like grants and student loans, it also encourages its students to apply for any scholarships they may receive. Along with education IWCC has many different clubs and teams to be a part of. The school also has different housing and meal plan options for everyone. All of this along with staff work together to support the students in earning their degrees. Iowa Western Community College is a two year college located in Council Bluffs Iowa, and is one of the fastest growing community colleges in the region. Iowa Western has the latest in facilities and technology to create a great learning experience for its students. Some of these facilities include a cafeteria where everyone can eat, a cyber-library for students to get work done if they don’t have their own computers, free tutoring, and many hands-on classes to get the best learning experience, with amazing teachers that really care about their students future and education. Iowa Western offers certificate diplomas and Associate Degree programs. The courses are reasonably priced and undoubtedly less than tuition at a four year school even for those that come from out of state or country. IWCC also helps its students when trying to transfer credits and pre-requisite classes over to a four year college or university. Students also have the option to take day, night, or even online classes. Having this option for students makes it easier for the ones that need to work during the day or have very busy schedules. Sports have always been a big part of Iowa Western. IWCC has many different sports teams such as, men’s and women’s soccer, basketball, cross country, track, and golf. Other sports include football, baseball, softball, and volleyball. Iowa Western in past years has always ranked well in all sports throughout the country. The football and baseball team both took the national title in the past year, with all sports being nationally ranked in the top 20. IWCCs sporting facilities are very well taken care of and filled with all an athlete may need to work out and improve but these facilities are not just for athletes, any student may use them. The outcome of the success that IWCC holds with all sports is because Iowa Western has all the necessary facilities for the athletes to develop their skills and abilities to improve their game. Along with the great facilities there is the amazing coaching staff and trainers that help athletes improve and find universities for their players to move on to. Iowa Westerns housing is basically divided into three parts; dorms, suites, and apartments. The apartments have two rooms and two bathrooms that four students share. They have a living room area and also a kitchen. The suites are designed to have four students, each with their own room with a bed, desk, dresser, and closet. The suites also have two bathrooms which two students share and a living room area. The dorms consist of one room where two students share. These also include a bed desk dresser and closet area. The bathrooms in the dorms are shared with the hallway that the student lives in. In both the suites and dorms, there are activity centers that have both pool tables and ping pong tables. There are also computer labs with printers which make it more convenient for some students to do their studies. The students living in the dorms or suites also need a meal plan to eat in the cafeteria. Iowa Western has an on campus store that is full of food as well as school supplies that students may need. By having this, IWCC has made it possible for their students to not have to leave campus if not necessary. Iowa Western provides their students with so many amazing opportunities no matter what field they are interested into going in. Iowa Western is one of the top community colleges and could be considered better than many universities. There are so many different community colleges out there, but if you are looking to meet great people, go to a good school, and want to receive a great education, with amazing facilities, and top notch teachers and staff, and need help moving on to another college or university, you want to consider attending Iowa Western Community College. I wouldn’t choose any other community college to attend and get my Associates Degree.
