Why is the nature of training delivery important to employees’ overall success'
Training delivery is important because the better an employees is trained to do a job, usually equates to that employee being more prepared. Chapter 8 states management is committed to training and development; training is part of the corporate culture. This is especially true of leading companies, such as Disney, Marriott, Hewlett-Packard, and Edward Jones & Co (Cascio, W.F. 2005). These companies annually rank in the top third of Fortune 500, because of quality training.
Provide examples of different delivery methods and their effects. What is the training method in your workplace or one you are familiar with' Is it effective'
Simulation method is a form of training where people role play and perform interactive simulations for virtual teams. The purpose is to provide employees examples of how to perform the job while allowing positive transfer from training to the job. On the job training is another form of training, it allows the employee to observe and get a clear understanding of the desired skills needed to do the job.
The training at my job is a mix of on the job and software based. The software portion of the training is not very effective. Often employees will skip through the tutorials and not pay attention. On the job training is very effective because the employees can learn from watching their co-workers and ask questions when they have trouble.
Explain improvements and offer suggestions you think will benefit the training program in that workplace.
I would suggest a software on the job combination, where employees could be directed by management how to perform different task and then take a computer test to gauge how much they actually learned and if they require additional training on a given subject.
