Just before 80’s women were confined to several jobs and all top works were belonged to men. Women were responsible just about the domestic jobs. It means cooking food, cleaning the house, caring children. However, after the 80’s women stopped to underestimate themselves and started to struggle for success in professional life. Even if finding women in top jobs is still rare in all around the world, as time goes on some women appeared who managed to have such jobs despite of not equal conditions with men by practicing some strategies. A new group of females started to appear in the 80s and differed from “Traditionals” which is called in Women Entrepreneurs: Moving Beyond the Glass Ceiling as “Second Generation”. The females in this group entered variety of jobs compared with “Traditionals” and achieved to senior jobs. For many researchers the strategies of them are considered as pathfinders for other women who desire to come up trumps in professional life. Research studies made about the strategies of these women are too crucial since the starting point of this research paper is the ‘high achiever women’ profiles. These successful women proved that women should not underestimate themselves. Consequently, other women became curious about the hints of high achiever women. Therefore women’s career development became an important topic in many countries. In well developed countries this topic is even more important since women compose nearly half of the total work force. Even in Turkey women are really interested on this topic because they want to become powerful, successful and economically independent from men. However, the number of well-structured studies on female entrepreneurship is not enough. Despite of there are few research studies guiding women, many women seek the paths which will carry them in successful position in professional life. In contemporary society, the way of thinking of women indicates that women do not believe anymore that men are naturally more successful than themselves in business life. The main purpose of writing this research paper is to point out the ways of success for women relying on assumptions formed by analysts based on interviews made with the women which came up trumps in their fields. Women can become victorious even more then men if they take into consideration analystes's implications relying on interviews made with successful women in their fields about their life and experiences. The advices given by the high achievers are absolutely crucial. By the successful women profiles other women's confidence may increase because these examples can make them to realize that becoming a high achiever is possible as a women. In "Women's Career Development" by Barbara White some advices are pointed out for these females. According to the book, most of the women that interviewed with indicated mostly that a woman who want to become high achiever needs to be single minded and decisive. Additionally, they advise to 'future's high achievers' to be aware of what they want and what their priorities are ( White, 227). So women should bare in mind all these steps and make their decision and 'go for it'. In "Breaking the Glass Ceiling" by Ann. M.Morrison desire to succeed, ambition, persistence, and willingness to take risks, ability to be tough, decisive and to manage subordinates are seen as the factors which propel women up ( Ann M.Morrison, 26-31 ). These personal characteristics are needful for being a high achiever even you men or women. Both needs to have these characteristics. On the other hand, being a high achiever as a women is not that easy. There are some other points that need to be taking into account if you are a woman. As it is mentioned in "Women's Career Development" by Barbara White women should recognize that it will be harder for a women than a men. It is pointed out that women should be aware of hard conditions and need to have persistence and keep battling for become a high achiever( White, 228 ). This advice indicates clearly that women have 'sui generis' conditions in professional life than men since they subject to sexual discrimination in business life. So the factors which propel women up have to be seeked differently than men. Another research made by Donna L.Brooks and Lynn M.Brooks list "seven secrets of successful women". According to them seven secrets are, realizing the importance of a mentor, know how to increase her visibility, know how to develop an effective network, know how to communicate effectively, know how to balance work and home, and finally know when to take smart risks and understanding the politics of the organization (Brooks, 7-8). The recipe given by Brook is helpful for women who want to be high achievers since it deals with the difficulties that women face with. Generally, one of the main difficulties women face with is their lack of assertiveness and self-esteem. It is well known that many women are likely better by situate at the back seat. They do not prefer to push themselves forward because many women have a dreadful tendency to underestimate how good they are and undervaluing themselves. It is not definitly caused by lack of technical abilities or qualifications. Yet, there are numerous women intelligent, qualified and talented even more than men but they don't sing about this. However, even if someone is capable to come up trumps, just waiting to get noticed is not sufficient. You should not afraid to wield your authority and power. You should come into action to prove your capacity. As it is pointed out in " The Influential Woman" by Lee Bryce successful men know how to make themselves visible, don't afraid to speak up. They are assertive rather than passive ( Bryce, 2-3 ). This is an important factor which puts men forward. Barely, many women prefer to be passive and believe that the reason of not getting noticed is that they are not well enough. Then they begin to underestimate themselves and to lose their hopes about future. There are few women who managed to be saved from this vicious circle, but many women could not. This vicious circle prevent women from achieving. So as it is said in "The Influential Woman" by Lee Bryce " Women do work hard, but often they do not work hard at right things" (Bryce, 2). It is certainly not sufficient to get the qualifications for a job and to work hard at that job. For propel themselves up what women should do is to learn how to increase their power, assertiveness and visibility rather than just acquiring more qualifications. In 'Women Entrepreneurs' by Dorothy P.Moore and E.Holly Buttner there are interviews made with successful women and who have already achieved senior positions. The authors remark about these women "What is striking about all these high achievers is that they are not just highly qualified and good at their job functions. They are also good at those factors which get successful men to the top"( Moore and Buttner, 3 ). The factors which get men to the top are mainly their assertiveness, visibility and self-esteem. So a woman should not only let it go at her qualifications and her hard working but also should have the features that men have. Today women are more and more powerful as never they were. They attained their purpose tremendously varied ways because there are many parameters which affect their success. The strategies which are listed above can be applied by every women. However, there are some other points which are 'sui generis' for every women and affects women's success in professional life. Innate characteristics, her family socio-economic situation, the society that she brought up are as crucial and determinative as the qualities that she obtain while her life. "Seven Secrets for Successful Women" ,relying on interviews made with successful women, defines the characteristics such as high energy, tenacity, a certain amount of toughness, a sense of humor and flexibility as really important traits. However, the book appends that these characteristics are innate rather than strategies that can be learned (Brooks, 7). So some characteristics which are influential appreciably on women's success are congenital. Therefore sometimes it is not sufficient just imitate the successful women. Just like innate characteristics, her family socio-economic situation, the society that she brought up are as crucial and determinative as the qualities that she obtain while her life. These points have an effective role on differantiation of women as an individual. One example from 'Women's Career Development'," The successful women as a group achieved a high level of education" ( White, 215 ). Today education especially diploma is an important qualification while a job application. However, sometimes taking these diplomas from the best universities depends on your family bugdet since having a scholarship from top universities is not easy at all. If you do not have scholarship or ıf you can not afford to pay the tuition fee, surely it will be a miracle to be accepted for a reputated university. Another point which differentiate one woman from another is the her family's mentality. As it is pointed out in 'Women's Career Development', large number of their mothers worked outside the home (White, 214). Maternal employment is so important for the daughther of the family since generally daughters consider their mothers as the role-models. Even if her mother did not work in a senior job, a mother who works in a quotidian job can change her ideas about working as a women in the future and change also her aims for the future. Anyhow, there are also some women which don't heed what her mother did. "Women in Profession: A Comparative Study of Hindu and Muslim Women" by Suhail Ahmed mentiones, " It also appears from the figures that most of our respondents exhibit the rejection of the role-model of the mothers"( Ahmed, 56). Despite of these women, a mother who works can be considered as a guru for her daughter and an advantage for her success in professional life. Some women have many advantages; the right qualifications, helpful parents so a strong career start from the beginning than others. However, as it is claimed in 'The Influential Woman' by Lee Bryce "If you are not in fortunate position, don't think that means you can't make it"( Bryce, 6 ). Therefore women should have the persistence, ambition and continue to keep battling. Anyhow, there are women who achieved against a disqualified background. They did not have opportunities that others had but in spite of these difficulties they succeed to obtain great jobs. As it is mentioned in 'The Influential Women', "So take heart, it can be done. Do not assume that top jobs are only for the privileged. Learn to have your cake and eat it"(Bryce, 6). So it can be said that women have to be courageous and have perseverance despite of disadvantages that they had for become high achievers. Females should ignore the general tendency of other women and the society and plot her own course because the mentality of many societies predicts that femininity and professionalism are two notions which never agree with each other. This mentality cause women to give up their goals about professional life. One of the main prejudice about women is that being a potential mother and wife had seen as a impassable obstacle for women's success in professional life. Success for women was frequently associated with making sacrifices. Career or family' Women felt that they have to choose one of alternatives and most of them could not resist on society's pressure consequently chose being a mother and wife. This mentality kept women away from professional life and confined them to domestic jobs. On the other hand, there were number of women who tried to achieve both. Anyhow, according to a report of the Government of India, even in India 70 percent of working women are married. "This means that the role of mariage as a constraint on profession for women is generally overplayed" (Ahmed, 78). The official numbers and the implication of Suhail Ahmed indicates clearly not only in western countries but also in developing countries being wife and mother are not seen as a obstacle for professional life. In 'The Influential Woman' there are various interviews made with 'high achiever women' not only in professional life but also in family relationships. These women all managed to realize their achievements without any sacrifice about their feminity and private life. The book defines a model of a successful women as a woman who plans her home life as well as her career, understanding that one impinges on the other (Bryce, 4). Therefore it can be said that for women home should not be considered as an obstacle for their professional life. On the contary, it advocates that women should wield their feminity in favor of their succcess in the professional life. As it is mentioned in " The Influential Women" by Lee Bryce "By feminine, I don't mean weak, simpering and passive. Feminine to me means being warm, caring and approachable"( Bryce, 5). Some feminine attributions are in favor for women's success. By using these attributions woman can do what successful men do, but she can do more, and she can do it differently. Women can develop some of her own feminine special strengths and overcome the problems. To sum up, today many women are not still at the status that they deserve compared with men but they are becoming aware of their power, personal skills and stop to underestimate themselves. They are no longer in their mum's world, but they hadn't still evolved enough to enter "a man's world". For about 30-40 years period women worked hard, had the qualifications for senior jobs even sometimes better than a men, but lack of expressing themselves kept women away from developing their careers. However, today they are assertive rather than passive, they plan their careers and express themselves. Owing to this change in attitude today stereotypes about woman are accredited in very limited extend.
