* The main drivers for medical service is everyone at least one time in their life time will get ill and has to seek medical attention. Due to the demand of medical service consumers pay high premiums to receive health insurcance coverage, however not everyone can afford healthcare insurance but they cannot afford to not have it. Not having insurance coverage can result late diagnosis of a serious diseases, and when a sickeness is severe the consumer can pay thousands of dollars for a visist to an Emegency Department. Even if counsmers are healthy individuals no one know when an accident or illnees will occur thefore consumers are stuck paying high copaymnets for annul check up and many other medical services. Medical services continue to rise and with the economic crisis many people has lost their job where they was receiving healthcare insurance . * The annual cost for medical services will only increase with the lack of employment. Theres always going to be a demand for prescription drugs. Many Residents In the United are are missing out on prescription drugs savings. Prices for prescription drugs varies throughout the country vary/ when it comes to prescription drugs Some are twice as much at certain pharmacies. Even with the high cost of prescription drugs consumers still hand their prescription to pharcies without even knowing how much the prescription drug will cost them. Consumers trust and depend on their insurances co-pays, it never dawn upon them that they should be shopping around until they find a cheaper cost.Consumers neede to know about the options that’s out there for them when it comes to buying prescription drugs. The best solution for consumers is to shop around for the cheapest pharmacy or drug especially for those without healthcare insurance. One solution consumers are aware about generic drugs appose to non-generic drugs.Prescription drugs are not a fixes cost for example one can go to CVS pharmacy and may a certain amout for a prescription and one can go to Costco for the same prescritption and it’s a lower price. Shoping aroing doesn’t mean a person has to go put out of the country to purchase prescription drugs, which is not a bad idea, however theirs disadvantages with prescripotion drugs coming form other countries. Below are price differences showing why consumers should shop around Simvastatin [20mg, 30 pills] • Walmart: $24.36 • Costco: $5.90 • CVS: $58.99 Amoxicillin [500mg capsules] • Walmart: $4 • Costco: $5.90 • CVS: $17.29 • Walgreens: $13.49 The driven cost for long term care is the aging population aging by the year 2020 baby boomers will be turning the same age at the same time which will result a large demand for long terem care. Therefore the cost for this service will ony increase the more demand the less the supply. At least 60 percent of consumers over the age of 65 will need ome sort of long term during their life time. Mnay people receive long-term care by their family or froine and many of them receive the care form a other individual whose not family or friend, community organization, residential facility or some agencies. The cost for long term care can add up very quicly the proces varies base on the type of service needed. The average U. S. costs are for long terms are $5,566 a month for a semi-private room in a nursing home $6,266 a month for a private room in a nursing home $2,968 a month for care in an assisted living unit $19 per hour for a home health aide * * Hospital price continue to rise over the past years, when it come to getting admitted in the hospital consumers cant control that theres always going o be a demand for inpatient services in the hospital . The cost per night in a hospitals veraies base on the state and the eare one may be in. Some hpspital charge $5,000 daily for a room in the hospitals and that’s just for the room that’s not including the charges for blood wook, procedures and other services they may be provided. To treat a person coming in with cardiac arrest federal data show it can be more than $20,000.Most of the charges for the inoatient hospital stay is equipment charges and labor charges, this service is a service that will alwys be needed bcause someone who has a severe illiness such as cardiac arrest cannot stay home and find and ultimate way to be treated they have to be treated by healthcare professionals. Thefore the cost for hospital/inpatient will continue to rise base on the the demad for it. * Refferences Altman, D. and L. Levitt.
