Obama Care HealthCare POL: American National Government Marilyne McClendon November 5, 2012 Thesis: Obama Care is the most talked about category concerning the needs of American people. It is critical to their life and health needs. During the 2008, federal campaign, President Barack Obama placed a health care reform into action. While the United States was facing a problem in health care, it was a solution for the American people to have health coverage. While the insurance coverage was expanding, President Obama decided to reform the health care system at the beginning of his presidency. (Pro-quest.com) When President Obama took on this task after President Bush left, it is still very active. There are many people that are against it, and some people are for it.It is yet to see will this issue have a positive impact on the people, or will it be done away with. This issue is very alert today. Drawing on the historical perspective, this article addresses and analyzes health politics in the Obama administration. These are effects of existing institutions and policy legacy’s on social policy development. These articles’ was an impact of legislation enacted in March. Even though it does not break from the past, the legislation should bring changes to the United States health care system (proques.com).Medicaid is a proposition for the state, they must comply with all federal programs. With this program, is it really the individual mandate that requires every citizen to obtain healthcare coverage and benefit law by President Obama on March 23.Americans have more freedom and control over their healthcare care choices. They don’t have to worry about premiums increases from insurance companies without accountability. One of the reasons it was passed was to bring down cost, by increasing insurance market competition, assisting those who cannot afford coverage, and reducing the cost of medical care. This law reduces healthcare cost for families and business and has already made it illegal for insurance companies to deny care to children because of pre-existing conditions. There are over forty-five million people including children that don’t have insurance. Eighty percent are in working families. Along with the Affordable Care Act and Obama Healthcare Reform, it will provide stability and security for all Americans. Increase in Healthcare costs makes it very difficult for employers with small business. That is where the Affordable Act was implemented. I think we all should be able to have health insurance at a reasonable cost. Most insurance that people do have, the cost is increasing, there is a limited number of doctor visits, hospital days, increase in co-pays, and it cost almost half of your salary to add family members. There are many unpaid medical bills due to lack of affordable health care. There are so many that need Medicaid, and other insurance that cannot receive it.This brings us to more medical error, which include people who cannot receive proper medical attention, such as cancer treatment,HIV,and other important medical treatments, that we need, then we are face with obesity, and chronic diseases. One main focus for the American people is the HealthCare. Americans know and see and possibly feel the big gap in HealthCare. Obama plans are clear and he agrees and acknowledges that today biggest problem is people without healthcare. His plans include every American being covered. The new national health plan will guarantee that no American is refused insurance due to illness or pre-health conditions. Part of the new national healthcare will cover all essential medical services including maternal, mental health. He will create affordable premiums, co-pays and deductible as well as the low cost of healthcare. One way to lowering the cost would be to help the patients directly by supporting disease management programs. Obama will require that healthcare provides participation in what he calls the “Federal Employee Health Benefit Program”. He feels by doing so, it will not only give doctors better information, but improve the quality of healthcare that is being provided. He will manage and integrate care for patients. In my closing, Healthcare reform will benefit a lot of Americans, young and old. It will help the need of assuring affordable, medical and health needs.
