Activities: 1. Producing The Great Wall Motor Co. LTD is capable of producing 500,000 whole vehicles per year that fall into three categories of HAVAL SUVs, Voleex sedans and Wingle Pickups & MPVs. It is also able to produce core parts such as engines and front & rear axles on its own. Regarding product development and design, the Company adopts the international standard software UG and CATIA and the PDM system to realize the cooperation with its suppliers in product development and inspection. It is now able to develop and design the major categories of sedan, SUV and pickup as well as power assembly and to develop more than 10 types of models simultaneously. 2. Innovation In respect of independent innovation and R & D, Great Wall Motor possesses the world-class equipment and system for research and development. GWM Technology Center is responsible for such innovation activities as product plan & development, technological support and R&D management. It has a R&D team of more than 5,000 people including over 500 experts and managers from home and abroad. GWM has forged its own expertise, standards and intellectual property rights in all stages from engine and gear box design, whole vehicle modeling, CAE, testing to trial production. 3. Sales Currently, Great Wall Motor has sales outlets, 4S shops and authorized service stations in 254 cities across China. Its service network covers the whole nation, with each center providing service to the places within 50km radius of itself. The Company aims to open over 500 new sales outlets this year in order to double the number of new sales outlets it had last year. The total number of sales outlets in China is expected to reach 800 in 2010. 4. Exporting The Great Wall Motor has been in the leading places in respect of export volume and export value in the overseas markets for many years. Currently, the Company exports its products to more than 100 countries and regions, with its export volume and value ranking first in China's automobile industry for consecutive years. In June 2009, Great Wall Motor exported its vehicle to Australia, becoming the first China auto brand that entered into Australia market. 5. Quality Control A great deal of energy and fund have been put into development of the four centers, namely, Testing Center, Trial Production Center, Modeling Center and CAE Center. In the Testing Center, a series of tests can be conducted on safety, emission, whole vehicle, chemical materials, parts and NHV. The Trial Production Center is equipped with a flexible body welding line and a GA work station, capable of designing jigs/fixtures, fast molds and checking fixtures. It undertakes trial production of all sample parts and sample vehicles developed by the Technology Center. World leading measurement devices are configured in the Modeling Center including double-arm 3D measuring machine, FARO flexible 3D measuring machine (portable measuring arm) & KREON laser system. The CAE Center, built with RMB 50 million investments, is provided with a full series of emulation and analysis software such as HyperMesh and Nastran. The PC group of 33 individual computers and more than 20 high performance computers are highly endurable, stable and bump resistant, capable of whole vehicle hydrodynamics and other analysis. 6. After-sales service Now GWM has 800 overseas service stations to ensure the service radius effectively, and more service stations are under construction. GWM pays much attention not only to the quantity of service stations but also to their quality. For this reason, GWM headquarters has set the global unified standard for terminal image, including service facility, personnel, technical training and spare parts reserve, etc. GWM has become the leader of China’s automobile industry in the management and development of service network.
