It takes a lot to make a movie. There are various elements in the process to filming a movie. You have the cast, casting crew, production crew, and other important people. Their three processes in filming a movie. You have pre production, production, and post production. In this essay I will explain each process. In order to prepare a film you have too have a story outline. The pre production process is like a planning page for your shoot and the process starts when the cameras start rolling, the process of preparing all the elements involved in a film. Pre production usually only comes into play once the project is developed. During this time the project will be fully paid for, and have most if not all the elements, such as a principal cast and director. It should have a screenplay. In the process of pre production, the script is broken down into individual scenes and all of the locations, props, cast member, special effects and visual effects are done during this time. A detailed schedule is produce and arrangements are made for all the elements to be avaible to the filmmakers. Then the sets are build the cast is hired and all of the finances and finical arrangements are made, but during some point during pre production there will be a reason Through of the script. The people that usually attend are all the cast members that have a speaking part, all of the head department’s producers, publicists, and also the director. Sometimes the write is still working on the script, but the screenplay is locked and all of the scenes are numbered to avoid confusion at the beginning stage of pre production process. Pre production is designed and planned during this process the production company is created and a production office. The production is a story boarded and visualized with the help of the illustrators and concept artist. During this process a budget is made to plan the different stages for the film being made. Then the producers must hire a crew, they determine the size and type of crew they want to use during the filmmaking. The director is usually responsible for the storytelling, creative decision and the acting of the film. Their also an assistant director manages the shooting schedule and logistics of the production. The director usually has the job of finding actors or actress to fill the parts in the script, this requires and the actors audition. Once the preproduction process requirements are met its time to move to the production process. In production the video is created and shot. Production is the planning page for your shoot. It’s the process of making a film from a initial story idea or commission through scriptwriting, shooting, editing, directing, and distribution to an audience. Production can take from a few months to several years to complete. The crew will be hired at this stage. Different things such as the property master, script supervisor, assistant director. The day shoot will begin with the crew getting to the set, actors will usually have a different call time, the reason why is because dressing, lighting, and makeup can take up to many hours or even days if needed. That is the reason why these things are set up in advance. When a scene is being filmed a electric production is already setting up for the next one. While all this is taking place the actors are in wardrobe and hair and makeup. Finally the action is shot in as many takes as the director needs or wants. The assistant director is the one who informs everybody that a take is about to be recorded. Once the take is over the director calls “cut” and the camera and sound then stops recording. if the director thinks that any additional takes are needed the whole process is done all over again. They move to the next setup until the whole scene is covered when a scene is done the assistant manger says “it’s a wrap” the crew will then “strikes” at the end of the day the director approves the next days shooting schedule for everybody to return. Then the director sends a daily progress report is sent to the production office, these workdays usual last up to fourteen to eighteen hours in various different locations. During this process the production sounds also synced up ti the videos picture frame. Post production is assembled by a film or video editor. The editor goes threw several steps to make sure that the film is complete and meets all the right standards. One the original film camera the film is developed and copied on to a one light for the editing machine, to make editing much easier. Post production first job is to build a rough cut which is taken from different scenes. The reason behind this is for the best cut to be chosen. The editor will normally make sure that the shot chose is the vision that the director wants. Then the next step is to create a fine cut by getting all the shot to be put together and make sure they all run together smoothly if any alterations or shortening is needed, it is done is this process. Once all this is done and the director approves this the picture is put on what the film industry call a “lock” which means no other changes are made, once all this is done its passed to the hands of the post production supervision sound editors and they make sure all the sounds, voices, and special effects if there is any are correct synchronized and finalized. When an entire film is in the completion of the production phrase the production office arranges a wrap party to thank all the cast and the crew for all their hard work and effort they put into the film for the last few month up to years/ Finally the film is previewed normally by the target audience and any feedback might result in further shooting on edits to the film. The next stage where the film is released to cinemas. The film companies usually release a film with different things like a launch party, press release, and different things in that nature. Once all these processes are done the movie then hits theaters for it to be watched by an audience. In my essay I talked about the three elements needed to complete a film. Preproduction, production, and post production. Now you know what it takes to film a movie.
