We are faced with more complications and deviations than once were in a simpiler world. The lines of communication cannot under any circumstance have any gaps; to be filled with useless information or faulty resolutions. It is more apparent everyday that having an educated person to deal with the lines of communication within a company is prudent for survival. With the proposal to reimburse an employee who is seeking this professional level is very beneficial to our company. If our company has members that are looking to further their education; then this would be a perfect opportunity to get an individual that knows the company to proceed in the communication aspect of our field of expertise. This would enable us to close the gap within different departments that have communication problems. Having a set person to worry with the problems that communication can endure is the best way to solve all of the issues that our company may have. This communications person could also be the one to do all of the training information for our company. This person can also hold different types of seminars for our company on different communication issues; such as, harassment, bulling at work, co-worker issues, etc. Our company may even want to consider hiring an outside source to come in as they are going through the communication in business program. This internship would create a non-bias person to be trained the way we would want to mold our communication department. This advantage would help us to start fresh on the program and set an example for other members within the company now. The world used to be in cubicles and brainstorming with the person next to you. However, our times have changed and the wireless offices are emerging. We need to stay competative with other leading companies and create a field of communication that allows us to communicate with each other while not being in the same room. This will create a new professional need on how we communicate. This tuition reimbursement will allow us to get people in this field to connect us to the trendy world of today. According to Memphis Business Journal; “Many knowledge-based and information-based industries are moving towards allowing distributed virtual teams.” This will allow our company to save money on overhead of having to move employee’s from one facility to another. It will also save on the money spent on company cars and fuel as these usually go up in budget every year. This new wave of how we use our communication will allow us to be in different parts of the world at one time. The communication department will be able to oversee all the needs for this new opportunity. This will allow us to gain the best employee’s for the tasks that we need to be completed. Other type of career opportunities that a communication person would be able to provide is the use of a PR (public relations). This person would allow us to be on the latest information that is available for our company. The PR would be able to fulfill all of the social aspects of our company; write speeches for all company officials, employee morale, keep conflict in mediation at bay, handle investor relations, and they can put a positive spin on all issues. According to the Bureau of labor Statistics; a Public Relations Specialist can be very beneficial to our company. Benefits 4 “The need for good public relations in an increasingly competative and global business environment should spur demand for these workers especially those with specialized knowledge.” This is a prime example why our company would need to pay for such a reimbursement. The opportunity to be ahead in the business world with a trained and specialized Public Relations Specialist would increase our customer base and help our current employees. Another aspect of communications that our company can explore with a communication employee; would be the seminar speaker. People with a degree in communications are a prime candidate for any type of journalism or speaking; our company could benefit from this at business conventions as well as in house presentations. The individuals that hold this degree are very honest and open with the way that they communicate. According to Monster.com; the rise of a Public Relations officer is going to have a 16.90% growth by the year 2018 and an estimated salary of $71,000.00 per year. They also are needed inside all of the big companies from Samsung to Bed Bath and Beyond. Some communication experts that just stay in the field of journalism will average 40,000.00 per year. The benefits to having a person with a bachelor’s degree in business and communications will well be worth the amount that our company would be paying them to work here. The benefits of having a person within our company that has the ability to fast forward this company with the future of communications is crucial for our survival. This is a necessity to keep our customers happy, our investors interested, and our employee’s loyal to our company. This new bridge of communication that a Public Relations Specialist could provide would be phenomenal and detrimental to many different aspects of our company. The money spent for the education of this person or persons would pay off long term with increased retention, more investors, a great public image of our company, and a greater way of communicating with one another in a virtual work force.
