Epliza Rané in Never Wonder Afterland
After a few more minuets of waiting, she decided it was time to act. Epliza unbraided her blond hair, so that she could tie to a support beam to climb out of the window. She carefully aim and threw over her hair and tied a knot. Epliza walked over to the window, throwing out her excess hair and began to descend to the ground. As she came down the tower wall, she looked like a pro that had been descending mountains all her life. When she reached the bottom, Epliza swung out from the tower wall to get on the other side of the moat without dropping into the water. She had reached in the mat as she swung and caught sword fish. Oh but the fish was hard to hold on to while it thrashed around. Its slippery slimy scales didn’t help any either. But Epliza managed to hold on to the fish when she landed on the ground. She used this fish’s sword like mouth to cut her hair. But while she was cutting her hair she heard a cat behind her.
As she turned, she saw a little white cat holding a clock. The cat put the clock back his pocket and ran away. Now Epliza thought, why would a cat have a clock'. She started to hurry after the cat to ask him why he had the clock. So she followed the little white cat, which had scurried in to a bush. But soon she found herself in a whole other part of the wood that was leading to a rocky coastline. The waters below were known as the infamous Captain Hook’s waters.
Upon nearing the rocky cliff, Epliza tried to stay away from the edge. She didn’t want to fall in and ruin her pretty dress that she wore for the queen. Although as careful as she was, her klutziness made her trip over her own two feet. At first startled, but soon realized that she was falling rather slowly, instead of someone that was plunging to their death below. Looking below, Epliza saw a grand old looking ship. The ship had masses that wee as big as clouds that seemed to be tied to the ship with mounds of rope. Swaying slowly with the ways, rocking back and forth the sail masses caught Epliza and cradled her like an over sized hammock.
Once Epliza climbed out of the sail, she saw pirates everywhere. Pirates to her left and right that were wither hard at work or relaxing. Some of the pirates that were working were busy swabbing the deck, gutting fish for dinner, or tying cannons to the ships edge in case a battle should arise. Although, other pirates were drinking ale and singing the old “Yo Ho” pirates song. Most of the pirates were hard at work, with Captain Hook standing so proudly on deck looking out upon his crew. Epliza saw Hook with his long black curls blowing softly in the wind with his hook of a hand resting of the ships railing for steady support against the ships rocking motions. Epliza wondered to herself what type of accident could have happened to make Hook lose a hand. It was then she heard the chorus of the pirate’s song.
Epliza knew this part and joined in, but Captain Hook heard the new voice and spotted her.
“Intruder!” Hook yelled.
“Where'” Epliza asked, as she looked around confused.
“Grab the girl and bring her to the plank.” Hook said with a mischievous grin.
So the pirates tied her hands so she could not try to brake free. They picked her and carried her to the plank.
“Off with ye head.” Hook shouted a little happier than any sane person would have said.
Epliza turned around and stomped her foot, “You can’t take my head, I have to see the Queen.”
Out of the corner of Epliza’s eye she saw something shimmering and a purple and black Cheshire rabbit appeared. The rabbit said “This won’t do, this won’t do at all.” As the rabbit did a hop, skip and a twirl, it was in the next instant that the rabbit and Epliza appear in a forest. As the rabbit started to fade Epliza says,
“Oh wait! Can you help me find my way'”
The Cheshire rabbit said, “Well that depends on where you want to go.”
Epliza starts to explain, “Oh, it doesn’t matter, as long as I….”
“Then it doesn’t really matter which way you go,” as the Cheshire rabbit said as he faded away. Epliza at this point is furious and yells, “I have to get to the Queen’s castle.”
In the next instantaneous moment, Epliza materialized in front of the queen. Her appearance was that of improper. Epliza’s hair was sticking out in every direction, her dress was torn and snagged. She looked absolutely a mess. It was then the queen looked up from her croquet game and started huffing smoke out of her ears. Epliza knew she was furious and turn top run. But the queen yelled from behind her
“Off with your head.”
Some weird blue smoke started fogging her vision as she ran, but all she could hear was the queen yelling to cut her head off. Sounds in the distant were school bells ringing mixing in with the shouting. Epliza was suddenly being shaken with great urgency. Some on in the back of her mind saying “Wake up.”
Epliza who is really Gracy, woke up in a blanket that was tightly wrapped up in. Looked up at her older sister saying it was just a dream and that it was really time to get ready for bed. Gracy couldn’t believe that the dream she had was really a dream. So Gracey stood up, shut off the T.V. and walked up the stares saying,
“No more Rocky Road ice cream for me before bedtime,”
So the moral of the story is junk food leads to weird dreams.
