Ebay is an online marketplace that is worldwide, it is one of the biggest sites around where you can buy and sell and trade almost anything. I have personally used Ebay numerous times and I really like how user friendly it truly is. How it works is if you are a seller you would sign up with the site and create a login. Once you are completed with your login in you would add your item to the sellers list. You can have an option to have the buyers “buy it now” which is a set price you will accept for you item or you can have a bid now which buyers will continue to out bid each other for a certain period of time. Once that allotted time has elapsed the highest bidder will win that item. The advantage to being the seller on ebay is you can set a minimum price that your item can be sold whether it is buy it now or through an auction. So if the last bidder has a price that is too low for you, you do not have to sell it. If you are a buyer you also create your login and then search the items you are looking for. Once you find your item you now have the choice to “buy it now” or bid on the item. You do have to keep an eye on your item to ensure others do not out bid you. The great thing about that though is you do not have to stare at your computer all day keeping an eye out on it. The site has designed the bidding to alert you via email as soon as someone has outbid you. Individually this site is greatly designed to benefit not only small business but large ones as well. It is a much known site that will allow you to sell and buy your items with an audience all over the world. By doing this you can buy and sell a lot quicker than you would anywhere else. A great advantage to eBay regards to being a buyer is that it rates the sellers to see how much good and bad feedback they have gotten as well as how many items they have sold in the past. By doing this it makes the consumer feel a little better about the dealers they are dealing with. As a seller once you have established selling quite a few items it will rate you based upon how quickly you shipped your items as well as feedback from others that have bought from you. This will also help others trust to buy form you as well. In the end if I were to start an electronic retail business the first site I would use would be EBay. It is worldwide which helps expand my area and help my selling power. It is also very user friendly to help me possibly make more on my items by using bidding. It is a no brainer when it comes to using EBay. I believe it would help impact the e profit of any electronic retail business just because of the name it has made for itself.
