Drop_Outs_in_High_School

Drop Outs in High School Teenagers around the world have been increasingly dropping out of high school. There are many logical and illogical reasons for this disaster. The question is; how can we stop this' As numbers of drop outs increase so does the nations faith on youth success. Parents must be very worried for their uprising teenagers. At this point many scientists and psychologists have tried looking through all options. This includes criminal history of the student, educational background, and relationships between families…etc. In every other student since the year 2009, there has been lack of motivation and financial crisis that leads to more and more drop outs. It is understood that situations arise but someone can help these young individuals. Most young adults in high school are only looking at the situation at what is happening now and not thinking about the future. Instead of making it harder for themselves and dropping out, they would be doing much better if they stuck it out and graduated. More jobs today, require a high school diploma, without one you would be making below minimum wage which will keep the student in the confined predicament. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child states that every child has the right to an education that develops their “personality, talents and mental and physical abilities to their fullest potential.” Teenagers of this society have not taken the advantage of this right from the board of education. In the past, Americans of all ethnicities would be deprived of this opportunity due to racism and further malfunctions in society. Although years have passed and some things are passed and so the mystery stands; why when views of society better, does the minds and mental state of children begin to slack off' They begin to not care for education. In other countries, most children would sacrifice a lot just to be in most of American’s shoes because of the freedom that most Americans have. Considering America today, there should be no excuses as to why a student is failing. There should always be a place of aid in every direction. Perhaps, the student has financial problems and is not equipped every day with the items he/she need to learn, complete work and participate in class events and activities; teachers should calmly discuss a solution, rather the teachers pitch in and help or inform parents on programs to help their child with the supplies they need for school. The government has changed over the years and has a financial aid program that helps families that need it. The parent/s could apply and could receive from the minimum of $60 dollars a month to the max of $3,000 dollars a month depending on the amount of income throughout the household and the number of people within the family. For homeless teenagers and their families there is also a section 8 law that states: “The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, imposts and, to pay the Debts and provide for the common defense and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and exercises shall be uniform throughout the United States; To borrow money on the credit of the United States…” This states that all citizens of the U.S have a right to borrow money from the government and also be able to have their receive help in a place of shelter while being helped to get it paid. Therefore, illuminating the financial issue. Another issue to prevent a student from success is mental discursion. This can come from many different reasons including family issues, genetics, physical appearance, social deficiency and many other hindering issues that prevent students from staying focused on their education. To decrease the stress, there should be a class between or during lunch that is for students to discuss possible problems or just talk freely to an adult about their feelings and views of life. (Like a counseling hour) This time should be used to its extent and have more than one kind hearted/understanding adult. Most likely, having this counseling hour will help the minds of students and keep them on track to graduate. Students should feel like they can come to these adults about anything, not only for counseling but also just to talk about school and how to excel in their education. Sometimes a person just needs someone to talk to when they are going through some rough times, also support and good advice. Some people might argue that drop outs are not good but to a degree; acceptable due to the less jobs in this economy today. They argue that when a student graduates, that doesn’t mean that they will find a job or further their education by going to college. People say that everyone has their own ambitions and destinies in life. Not everyone should be graduating and going to college. They believe that there should be some lawyers and some cashiers, some police officers and some grocery baggers. “America has a shortage of job creators. And the people who create jobs aren’t traditional professionals, but start-up entrepreneurs.” (Michael Ellsburg) Micheal Ellsburg is stating that this country has a very little amount of below minimum waged income workers and more of our successors. He says that we need more failures so that they can take over the “basic” jobs. People do have different levels of education in this economy and reality is that not everyone will graduate and become lawyers, doctors and computer technicians that pay very well, however; people do have to try and have an ambition towards it. Teenagers can atleast graduate from Most people of America that has not finished school , don’t even know about ways to help themselves if they are in a financial or mental state crisis and become very ignorant. Education is key in this society and can assist you to not become a failure and leads you to success.
