It teaches us the way to be a responsible and independent person. Most importantly, it helps to be focused in our career and goals. Everyone has a dream to be a successful person in life, so have I. I choose USA for my final destination for the completion of my further studies. There were thousands of universities in front of me. I really had a tough time, when I had to choose one university among them. It is really a big deal for a student to choose one university among all. I finally made my decision and choose Dickinson State University because it was the cheapest university that I found in my list. This University was not only cheap but also had my major. I had planned to take “Computer Science” as my major and Dickinson State University was providing me this opportunity at low cost. Dickinson State University is one of the cheapest universities in the USA. This university is been helping an international students to study at an American university at low cost. Plus, it is providing an opportunity of getting tuition waiver, which has certainly attracted international students towards it. The DSU Global Awareness tuition waiver is what which covers up to fifty three percent of annual tuition costs. The requirements for getting this scholarship was to get seventy one plus in TOEFL. It was a golden chance for me to get an American degree, so, I applied for this scholarship. I fulfilled all the criteria that were asked to do for getting admission in this university. So, I was accepted and was send I-20. I was happy because this scholarship lessened my cost to twelve thousand dollar per year. This amount was affordable for my parents to pay for me so, I choose this university. I was a happy man when I entered to Dickinson. I made a couple of new friends and was enjoying my freedom. As the time passed, I started to miss my home and friends. The thing that I hated the most was the food given in cafeteria but now, I have learnt to survive. I really missed the food, which my mom used to cook for me. It was my first experience that I was far away from my country but the best one. It has helped me to be a responsible person because no one is here to take care of me. The second thing that DSU attracts me was the credits. If I had applied to any other university then I would have to pay the extra money for the credits more than twelve. Dickinson State University does not take any kind of charges for the extra credits. Students are free to take credits more than twelve. This makes easy to the students to finish their course as early as possible. Especially for the international students who can enjoy their bachelor degree within three or more years. It would even help me to finish my master till I am in the USA. I was given Visa for five years and if I complete my masters within these years then it would certainly help me to return my country proudly with an American degree in hand. Usually, becoming a foreign student in order to study in another country can change life of an individual. It brings many consequences and effects which almost change a person. When I became a foreign student, many things changed in my life. I have learned to live in a harmony with others. Back home, I did nothing except having fun with friends and families but now I take care of my messy rooms, wash my clothes, cook food for me every weekend, and organize my expenses. Now I feel as I am an independent person. The third reason for choosing DSU was the facility of dormitory that this university was providing to me. It was the cheapest as comparing to other universities. Usually, foreign students has no option rather than to choose dormitory to live in. This university was not only giving a chance to get a qualitative education but also a good place to live in. It has saved the cost of taking an apartment and the other personal expenses in the daily life. The dormitory was near the university. It was possible for me to walk to this university. It has certainly helped me to save my time. The one of the reason behind choosing this university was because of my major. I always wanted to be software engineer. So, I choose “Computer Science” as my major. Creating a program and designing software is not an easy task. I really need proper guidance to achieve my goals. So, American university was the best place to achieve my goal. Dickinson State University was the best option for me to get a qualitative education at low cost. My cousin was a student of this university. She never gets tired talking about the people and professors and she was the one to recommend me this university. Dickinson state is one of the safest places to live in, as compared to other state of USA. So, my parents never hesitated to send me to this place for my further studies. Although, I made tons of people and made lots of friends in this place but I still miss my family. It is somewhat difficult to live without parents and belongings but I appreciate the things that I have achieved because I learnt that my goals are not achieved easily. I need to work hard and Dickinson Stated University is what can help me to achieve my goals. This university has provided lots of facilities that have attracted foreign students and I am the one of them. DSU is not only providing a qualitative education but also supporting students to make their dream comes true. I found everything perfect about this university for an international student, which made me choose this university.
