Determining Your Perfect Position Paper University of Phoenix Organizational Leadership LDR/531 Determining Your Perfect Position Paper In this assignment we are assuming that our current company is in the process of expanding and restructuring, given us the opportunity of a lifetime of choosing the perfect position ourselves. This is very important and satisfactory because by choosing ourselves we are allowed to choose a role in the company were our skills, knowledge, leadership skills and talents can be put to the work at maximum level. Here I will explain my ideal position, benefits, weakness and treats this position may have. In my company I would choose the position of human resources director. I choose this position because it allows me to interact with all the employees of the company. Also will allow me to gain their thrust, so that I can ensure that in case of any problem or emergency they will be confident of talking to me. I think I have all the knowledge and the empathy necessary for this job. I love talking to people and getting to know them, in case of the decision making I have a strong character that will allow me to keep a nice and cool judgment thought the process. The benefits for a human resources director are endless. For this position you get to deal and know with people from different places around your town, country and in some cases from around the world. Another benefit is the ability of ensuring that the company hires the best people for the vacant spaces and that the employees receive their benefits as stipulated. For me on of the most important benefits of this position are using my leadership skills to train and educate my workers, so they will feel happy in their workspace. I consider myself to posses’ Charismatic style of Leadership. This style According to "Leadership Styles" (2012) is defined as transformational leadership because these leaders inspire enthusiasm in their teams and are energetic in motivating others to move forward. This excitement and commitment from teams is an enormous benefit”. Displaying charismatic leadership is one of the most effective ways to boost everything from motivation and creativity to productivity and plain old satisfaction. Whether it stems from low morale at the office, high anxiety at home, or a lack of clear direction from the top, far too many employees feel like they're stuck in a boat without a paddle. It's the manager's job to get those employees rowing again (Tasler, 2010). One of the downfalls of the charismatic leadership is that Organizations can become addicted to the charismatic leader just as leaders are susceptible to their own charisma, organizations can become addicted, too. An overly charismatic leader draws focus from the rest of the organization by demanding (subtly or dramatically) attention for him- or her-self. When the focus shifts to the personal characteristics of the leader, accountability is diminished. The followers can become overly dependent on the leader for all manner of large and small directions and decisions. (Evje, 2012) In this job the main weakness will be dealing with trouble employees and their conflicts. These situations are the ones that require a very strong character to deal with because you will have to deal with their anger and must try to solve their situation in an ethical and responsible way. This can also be a positive thing because helping others no matter their situation leaves a highly sense of gratitude of the person. In my case, since I’m very passionate about dealing with people, resolving problems and decision-making comes naturally for me, making this great attribute for the position. In conclusion, to become a human resources director will be the ideal position for me to integrate my business knowledge and my strong social background. This combination will allow me to gain more trust among the employees and management of the company creating a movement were some of the status barriers will be thrown down and we will be working on a company with a great and highly functional workspace.
