Great Expectation Literature reflects how mankind feels & thinks. It is a mixture from creativity mentally & emotional, which creates by human as texts. As Morner & Rausch defined literature "Writing in poetry & prose of recognized excellence valued for their intense, personal & imaginative expression of life" (Morner & Rausch, 1998, p.125). In analyzing Great Expectation, Van Ghent talks about an important issues back to the dehumanization, industrialization &colonial imperialism that used people as things not as humans being for their benefits. (Dorothy Van Ghent, 1961, p.266). Industrialization was apparent at the end of 19 centuries, related with both economic changes including the financial progress; agriculture developing & manufacturing, which are basically stood in machine, & Social changes counting new classes such as poor & rich. The person became as machine work for money to bay things, therefore life becomes materialism people use money to justification their goals &money becomes more important than the relationship between people, especially the family; they turn into individualism, everyone looking for his/her attitudes, desires & benefits. Van Ghent maintains that there are two kinds of crime that drive the moral plot of the Great Expectation novel: “the crime of parent against child, and the calculated social crime”. (Dorothy van Ghent, 1961, p.271). All babies born angel, they are like white paper you can note down whatever you want but parents & social environment sometimes change this nature. Such as pip acts with Magwitch in the first view when he threatens pip by killing if he didn’t follow his orders, which steal food from his house. When Magwitch upside down pip he was upside down his body & his world. Magwitch was abuse & Dehumanization pip. Pip has a good natural that he back with food but return home with guilty feeling of being a thief. Dickens dramatizes the impact of this crime of “dehumanization” on Pip and Estella. They are using as machines. We can see a clear model about mechanization of human in wemmik's character. He was using two characters the first one was in his work with serious features in his face & severe personality while in home with his old father second character was warm, lovely & kindness. Analogous to pip who has two characters, first one was in London through his new house & new suite, snobby & selfish, the second was Trabb's boy as his ethics criticize his actions & his snobby. Pip abused & used as thing or as machine by Mrs. Joe & Miss. Havisham. His sister always gives him orders to obey, For example, "go to sleep" without candle in the dark," eats this now" without asking if he was like it or not," wears this suite" without asking him is it suitable for him or not. (Charles Dickens, volume 1, chapter 1.2). Also, she was hits him whatever he had done good or bad, for example, when he was asking her husband Joe more than one question, in the volume 1-chapter2, she was angry & punish him by sending to sleep. All these commands didn’t make him a good or a respectable boy. He obeys her orders because he afraid from banishment. Mrs. Joe raises her brother by hand possibly because she is a victim & social injustice; she lives without parent & raises her brother alone with low financial, she felt that she was responsible for her family. Maybe it was the only way she knows & there was no one to tutor her. She was young women with big accountable. Miss. Havisham was dehumanization pip when she orders him "play" & also Stella dehumanization pip when she gives him food in a dreadful way, she treats him as a dog. Pip's fantasies of desire & revenge were the main reaction about dehumanization & abuses from his sister & Miss. Havisham. Psychological react of pip was angry, hate & injustice treatment from both. Pip was starting to illustrate hallucinatory. For instance, that he has hand in his sister attack & He was imaging Miss. Havisham hanging but these were not true. Furthermore, pip lives in his bubble that Stella his star plus she loved him along with Miss. Havisham was his donation & she wants to help him be a gentleman to get married Stella, but these weren't right, too. "Desire is interwoven with guilt along classic psychoanalytic lines, which propose that since desire is repressed it can only appear indirectly."(Dennis Walder, 2004, p.166). Physical he was living in his own world in London with new conditions; he wants to be a gentleman by using the money that Magwitch send it without his knows. He starts to educate himself at private teacher; He goes to high restaurants & eats a fabulous food. Pip didn't feel nostalgia for his home. He hated his sister & feel shame from Joe's works & Joe's behaviors therefore he became snobby & selfish. "Pip's inner life is displayed by his fantasies, estimated on to those around him. All the characters are aspects of Pip himself. This means that the crime of a parent against child & the calculated social crimes are analogous, like each other, both treating people as things." (Dennis Walder, 2004, p.164). Pip used Stella as stepping stone to be a gentleman so he was opportunist or he wants to revenge from her cynical action. However, sometimes we need a shock to wake us from our dreams. When Magwitch & Joe touch & kissed his hand in sensitive way Pip realized that both treated him as father. When he understands that Magwitch was the man who helps him to be regarded man, he was transition from illusion to disillusion. Pip starts to be a self helper socially when he helps Magwitch to run from London moreover back to Australia as well as spiritually pays human terms to high; he becomes morally a gentleman by treading Magwitch, Joe & biddy in humanities mode with respect & warm feeling. Pip's journey, Bildungsromen, of quest for self & his ambitions to be a gentleman, his values development from personal to the larger values of society by conflict equally with internal to be gentleman, having a lot of money & married Stella, & external to abandon his family because they are poor& highly developed sense of individualism. He becomes gentleman by changing in his moral & social relationship. Stella also used as a machine by Miss. Havisham who raises her to break men's hearts with cold feeling without any guiltiness emotion. She gives Stella money, clothes, jewelry & home, but under one condition to follow her order, to be a selfish & stony girl. Psychological Stella didn't care about anything, but herself, attributes, desire & fantasies. She manipulated in pip feeling through imagined that she loves him in addition she destroyed other men hearts. Stella becomes a material girl, selfish & without feeling. She treats his jewelers as important thing more than humans; possibly because she didn't has any friends & feels lonely. Stella is looking for a rich man to marry him but the result she was married from wealthy man but she has a dreadful treatment & divorced. She rejects pip because he was poor &naïve, love wasn't in Stella counts. Stella & Pip were orphan without home or money so they can't do anything instead of obeyed & satisfied with their life. Miss. Havisham was abused Stella psychological & physical perhaps since Miss. Havisham a victim & social injustice, as Mrs. Joe was, she was orphan without parent to raise, only have a big house with a big fortune. Her fiancé who abandoned her in the wedding day without any announcement simply he didn’t come but after he steals her money, he was dehumanization her. The people become materialism & selfish because of the financial & social conditions. The reactions from both Stella & Pip were the result for crime of dehumanization from both Mrs. Joe & Miss. Havisham & the authority of the society. Second crime was the social crime: we can clearly see it in Magwitch state. He was a victim for the social judgment by blamed him for other person crimes. So he leaves his wife & his baby girls for mystery destiny, he was losing everything such as respect, life, home & family because of what ……'. The society was unconsciousness & injustices by sending him to live in Australia as a punishment, the society treat him as a filthy thing & deserve to live alone without his family, so the society dehumanization Magwitch. Van Ghent says that "the Dickens world requires an act of redemption."(Dorothy van Ghent, 1961, p.271). Magwitch was a symbol of terror & fears for Pip, in the first volume, his threat about kills Pip. He was leaving pip with guilt feeling stay with him over years. Magwitch crossed the ocean risk of his life to see Pip and give him a clear explanation that as a reword to his action with him in the past, Magwitch work in Australia & sent the money for pip to be a gentleman he treats him as son. In dark & raging sea there is a candle give you hope to reach a peace. Pip reaction was very noble with Magwitch, he sat near him when he was dying & promised that he will take care of his daughter, Stella. In conclusion, the theme of the novel that moral & spiritual developments are more important than any aspects & confirms that psychological is an important role in child raises, because children will feel before talk, So be morally a gentleman is better than being snobby & selfish. It's true that by money you can buy things but you can't buy manner or moral. Money can't create gentleman in appearance if you don’t gentleman in moral because the gentleman who has a good work & a good manner. Human nature has good & bad habits but the people & environment that force you to used one of them. There are many children even with parent's abuse & social injustice becomes doctor & engineers so sometime adversity give you strong to challenge difficulties & being better than your parent's. Therefore, inside everyone there is a good nature even when you face a bad people because from the dark caves we can extract diamonds.
