Inherency Structure 1. Found on the sirs data base, from an article out of wall Street Journal Online. The Environmental Protection Agency has dropped its claim that an energy company contaminated drinking water in Texas, the third time in recent months that the agency has backtracked on high-profile local allegations linking natural-gas drilling and water pollution. On Friday, the agency told a federal judge it withdrew an administrative order that alleged Range Resources Corp. had polluted water wells in a rural Texas county west of Fort Worth. Under an agreement filed in U.S. court in Dallas, the EPA will also drop the lawsuit it filed in January 2011 against Range, and Range will end its appeal of the administrative order.   2. From the Christian Science Monitor The EPA proposed the first-ever US curbs on power plants' greenhouse gas emissions, saying next-generation coal plants should meet the restrictions. But the coal industry slammed the new rule.   Sen. Jim Inhofe (R) of Oklahoma was reported to be seeking a Congressional Review Act vote to halt the rule. Sen. John Barrasso (R) of Wyoming said "the Obama Administration just took another step to fulfill the president's plan to make electricity 'skyrocket' and 'bankrupt' America's coal industry."  Rep. Henry Waxman (D) of California, who led the fight in the House to pass cap-and-trade legislation to limit greenhouse gas emissions - only to see that bill die in the Senate - declared the EPA's proposed carbon pollution standards for new power plants "a breakthrough." "It sets achievable limits on dangerous carbon pollution, spurs investments in new clean energy technologies, and provides certainty for industry," Congressman Waxman said in a statement. "It shows the president is listening to scientists, not extremists who deny the existence of climate change. Today's action will reduce pollution, make families healthier, promote innovation, and help us compete with China and other countries that are investing in clean energy."   3. From the McClatchy Newspapers Romney calls for greater U.S. production of coal, oil and natural gas. He’d block new pollution regulations and roll back some old ones. He’d also abandon federal subsidies for “green” technologies such as wind and solar power, deriding the Obama administration’s “unhealthy ‘green’ jobs obsession.”   4. Came from an article out of the Washington Post. During the past Congress, the chief executives of leading energy, chemical and manufacturing companies endorsed comprehensive climate legislation. They told us that they have deferred hundreds of billions of dollars of investments until they know what they will be required to do to protect the planet. And they said that delay in addressing climate change puts our country's competitiveness in jeopardy, allowing China to race ahead of the United States in building the clean-energy industries of the future. 5. This article was retrived from Balitmore post Have wind turbines set up off the coast of Maryland the problems with this is that there is a bird migration path mostly the red knots that have been going down in population the past few years so they are looking after them the most. Also the cost of building them and getting this all set up would make the population that lives in the area spend Two dollars more a month which isn’t that bad. 6. found from Wall Street Journal A program to install insulation and other energy-saving improvements in homes that received $185.8 million has been hobbled by delays, and a plan to remodel buildings to be more energy-efficient, which received $113 million, has struggled to persuade enough home and building owners to upgrade, according to California officials                     Works Cited Gilbert, Daniel.
