University of phoenix axia vs. Traditional Education For many people deciding to pursue their education in recent years, there is question that they should ask themselves, are online classes a good option for me' People planning to attend college (especially if they live busy lifestyles) should take look at this option. The problem is that most people instead of doing their own research, they tend to listen and believe the rumors that online classes are not a legitimate education or as good of an education. Although not for everyone, some students experience even more success through online classes rather than traditional classes. However not all online education is created equal. The University of Phoenix Axia College has the biggest number of students attending and is one of the only colleges that offer a complete online education. University of Phoenix Axia and traditional education has many similarities and differences, but they both can deliver the same high quality education; it all depends on the students learning preferences and how much effort they put into their education. The classroom experience in University of Phoenix Axia and traditional education is one of the biggest differences between the two choices, though there are still a few similarities. When attending a traditional classroom the experience is much like grade school. It is held in classroom on campus grounds, there are many seats and desks for the students to sit and participate in class. There is an instructor and a few to many classmates, depending on the class size. When attending a University of Phoenix Axia classroom the environment is quite different from a traditional classroom. Instead of traveling to a college campus, students will be attending class from the comfort of the students home. The Students’ entire classroom is located on their computer through an online classroom. Though not face-to-face there is still a great deal of student to student interaction and student and instructor interaction. All interaction with other students and, the instructor is done by posting responses to their initial post or just by directly posting questions to individuals or to the classroom. The University of Phoenix Axia classroom has a chat room where students can go to ask each other questions about the class or just have regular non-school related conversations. The University of Phoenix Axia classes also have a specific section where students can have one-on-one conversation with their instructor where no other students can access. I have attended both types of classrooms and concluded that University of Phoenix Axia classes can be very flexible and built around a busy lifestyle. When concerning educational resources both University of Phoenix Axia classes and traditional classes have many similarities in what they have to offer, they are just obtained in different ways. The University of Phoenix Axia has a huge online library loaded with helpful student resources. The University of Phoenix Axia library has search engine that uses only the hundreds of resources that have been validated by The University of Phoenix Axia. The University of Phoenix Axia online library also has hundreds of eBooks that can be accessed at any time that student is enrolled in classes at The University of Phoenix Axia. There are other resources that the University of Phoenix Axia has like online workshops which are two day classes prepare students for their next class or classes. The University of Phoenix Axia library even has an online librarian that students can ask for help. University of Phoenix Axia students can even sign up for tutoring if needed. Traditional classes have their own access to a library and librarian usually located on the college campus. Most traditional classes hold workshops after hours that students can sign up for. Traditional class students can sign up for class related tutoring during non-class hours. I have completed a few Axia classes and traditional classes and in my conclusion the University of Phoenix Axia classes have more assessable and helpful resources. Both University of Phoenix Axia and traditional education have some classes that require students to complete student labs but the ways they are completed are a little different. The University of Phoenix Axia classes have online virtual interactive labs that are in some classes required to complete. All though they are not physically hands on they are as close as a student can obtain from a computer and require the student to make the right choices. I personally have completed a few of these labs and find them to be a very exciting and satisfying experience. Even though they are not always required it is a good Idea to do them because they are full of useful information. There are other student labs that the University of Phoenix Axia has like the Center of Writing Excellence and the Center of Math Excellence which is not class required but designed to assist the University's students in developing essential written communication and math skills. I have used the Center of Writing Excellence in all my classes and it has indeed changed my view of writing for the better. Both the Center of Writing Excellence and the Center of Math Excellence are in the University of Phoenix Axia library and can be accessed at any time as long as the student is enrolled in classes. Traditional class labs are completed in the classroom during class hours and usually require students to work in teams. Last of all the traditional labs are fully hands on and are exceptional for building work experience. Though certainly a different experience both University of Phoenix Axia and traditional education can deliver an exceptional education and both have their advantages, depending on the students learning preferences. Student effort is a key factor in both University of Phoenix Axia education and traditional education and if they are in lacking in effort they will most likely find themselves in trouble down the road and retaking classes which is very expensive. With the fact that I am a current student of University of Phoenix I can vouch that this is indeed a top quality university education. Hopefully in the future people will stop looking at online education as a cheap substitute, and start looking at it as the pliable option it is. In whichever path you chose furthering your education is a step in the direction of a more successful career and self-confidence.
