ideas for community arts project diversity in diversity - celebrating the diversity within the diverse community celebrating our (heritage) family trees and branches where we came from and who we link with using pictures from now, the past, stories, story telling and (if any) video. This could also tie in with Gypsy Roma History month in June. i am me - celebrating what makes me different and individual, what impacts us what impact we have on others and the environment concentrating on positivity the use of media, photography or art forms to show our representation. Community - everyone has a tile and paints, draws or writes on the tile a representation of the community they are a part of and life locally - the tiles would then be stuck onto a large board or become a part of an area in the community. Healthy food - what does taste look like' have people in the community eat a piece of fruit or vegetable and then taking that experience and turning it into art! so drawing or painting or using expresive art to descrie the taste - ie lemon could be like a yellow explosion! Be the story - take a local story or write a story which is relevent to the locality which has a deeper meaning, is funny or unusual and then express it through movement, music, dance or art. Following on - for people to write a story collectively about something locally including characters and references and for the story to be written by an individual for a paragraph and then continued by another for a paragraph untill the story is then completed, the story is then acted out with the individual who wrote the section to act out their part so everyone is the lead and brings something different. for international mother tongue day (21st feb) everyone to say something about themselves or a message or word positive and it be recorded, we learn the word phrase and where it is from. for national science day (28 feb) we create a science themed montage featuring science so we can have anything to do with science like creating a space rockets, or making a volcano that spews lava or fun science projects. national safety day is 4th of march and for this day we could make posters about keeping safe, so safe whilst bike riding, holding mummy and daddys hands, being careful in the home and outside tie it in with the green cross code and other similar things. world disabled day is on 20th march and we could make a piece of drama about how people whom are disabled are restricted in life and often looked down on or how they become invisible, we can devise a shortpiece on how people should treat others and how that person may have other skills to work around their problems. world water day is on the 22nd and we could draw or paint or make something showing water and using water so making cardboard bridges and rivers, drawing pictures of local ponds and rivers, or making music including water maracas! world theatre day is on the 27th and we could devise a piece about the theatre and put a show on featuring the things we like most about shows and what we should be showing people ie that violence is wrong etc etc world health day is on april 7th so we should make pictures, painting, art pieces about health and how we should stay healthy, what are favourite healthy things are. world laughter day is on 7th april and we could write funny poems, jokes, pull funny faces and talk about what makes us laugh international family day is on the 15th of may and for this we could draw paint or create stories about our families and where our families come from showing and including pictures of the past and thinking about our families of the future! world environment day is on the 5th of june and for this we could create art from recyclable materials so music from cans, make recycled paper into art, make posters about how we should look after the environment and write dra and talk about what makes our environment special here in crewe. world peace day is on the 6th of august and to celebrate world peace day we could draw posters and write stories and poems about peace, how peace affects us. world youth day is on the 12th of august and to celebrate it we could show about youth, how we have grown, stories of our past and our parents past when they were young, and how youth are around the world. world food day is on the 16th october and for world food day we could use arts and images depicting food, show how precious food is and how it is important to have a healthy diet. world aids day is on december 1st, for this day we could draw posters, imagery artwork containing the logo and story telling highlighting the need for preventative techniques, highlighting the plight of those suffering and also showing how sufferers are also just like you and i
