|2010 | | | | | | |Scott E Springer | |[communication and Collaboration strategy paper] | |Different learning styles and personality types, and ways that all of these different learning styles will work together to help work | |effectively within a group of individuals. | In this paper I will list three different learning styles, and three different personality types, and will develop a strategy for effective communication and collaboration amongst the selected types. The three different learning styles that I have chosen to develop a strategy for effective communication and collaboration are Bodily- Kinesthetic, Verbal- Linguistic, and Visual-Spatial. The way that I would combine these three learning styles would be in a presentation. For example in a presentation I would be physically delivering the presentation to a group of people which I would be able to set my own pace while delivering the presentation. With doing a presentation I would be delivering the presentation myself and would be able to learn from any mistakes if one were to happen. For the verbal style in the presentation I would be able to discuss topics that would interest me for the presentation. In the presentation I would have to know what kind of tone would be appropriate for the given presentation. I would also be able to make sure that I am expressing myself clearly to get the information across. For the visual parts of the presentation I could have maps, pictures, diagrams, drawings, graphs, with having these different items for the presentation I would not have to read long boring paragraphs, the items would be more effective because of the visual aids. The way that the three learning styles would work well together, because these are all things that I would be able to do on my own so that I would be able to use my strengths in presenting information to a group by physically doing the work and not just reading the information out of the books or any other source. The three different personality types that I have chosen to develop a strategy for effective communication and collaboration are Organizer, Giver, and Adventurer. The way that being a good organizer would help when working in a group or doing a presentation would be beneficial, because the information would be gathered and put together in order so that whenever I would be giving the information it would be organized and easy to understand. The information would be in order of time and have tasks defined in clear concrete terms so that I or any partner would know what was required. As a giver this would work with the other personality types because a giver seeks out tasks, groups, and subjects that involve helping people or groups. A giver works well with others and will express thoughts clearly and honestly to group members. Giver and organizer would work well with each other because an organizer would request feedback, plan tasks and sets dates to get the job done. The giver would go out of their way to make sure their part of the job is done to the best of their ability the way that the organizer would expect it. As an adventurer this type of person has knowledge in variety of fields and likes to be hands on, and also helps to motivate other people or will do extra work. This personality type would work well with giver and organizer because they are a highly motivated person that does not have a problem with doing their part in the task at hand. This is the information that I have gathered for different personality types and learning styles so that a person will know the effective ways they work together.
