A. Why did you choose your chosen occupation/career, the career you want to do for the rest of your life'
I chose the occupation/career of mechanical engineering because I like to interpret different things dealing with computers and finding out different things wrong with computers and being able to fix them or get them fixed.
B. Give a brief description of what your job/occupation/career is about.
A quick description of what my job/occupation/career is about is that mainly you perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
C. Give a brief description of the typical tasks that your occupation may do.
Typical tasks that my occupation may do could possibly be conferring with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolving system malfunctions, and providing technical information.
D. Briefly list the necessary education, training and work experience required for you occupation.
A brief list of the necessary education is a 4-year bachelor’s degree for the most part. For training you need several years of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training. For work experience, you need a minimum of 2-4 years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.
E. Briefly list the average national earnings for your chosen occupation. Yearly, monthly, and hourly.
The average national earnings for my occupation yearly is $114,700.00, monthly it’s $9,559.33, and hourly it’s $55.16.
F. List briefly the National Employment and Outlook through the year 2020 for your chosen occupation or career.
I could not find the National Employment and Outlook through the year 2020 for the mechanical engineering occupation.
G. List any military careers and their earnings for your occupation.
Military careers for my occupation are marine architect, sailors and marine oilers, and military officer special and tactical operations leaders/managers. The yearly earnings for these careers are: marine architect- $118,600.00, sailors and marine oilers- $51,900.00, and military officers special and tactical operations leaders/managers was unavailable.
H. List the work hours and travel required for your chosen occupation.
I could not find the exact hours but a person must work a standard 40 hours a week and a car would be the travel required but I do not know the distance.

There are no other class requirements to graduate but one must have a GPA of at least “C” (2.00 on a 4.00 grading system).

Some recommended courses for incoming freshmen during their first year at the University of Alabama are: for the University of Alabama-non school specific, a BCE 101 Freshman Compass Course, BEP 110 Freshman Compass Course, and NEW 222 Academic Potential. For the college of Arts and Sciences the classes are AS101 Freshman Seminar and AS102 Freshman Seminar. In the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration the recommended class is GBA 145 Compass Course. For the College of Human and Environmental Sciences the class is HES 100 Compass Course. For the Capstone College of Nursing the classes are NUR 102 Introduction to Professional Nursing and NUR 104 Living and Learning in Professional Nursing. The entrance requirements for my college are 4 units of English, 4 units of social sciences, including world history or a comparable course, 3 units of mathematics (must include algebra I, algebra II, and one unit of either geometry, trigonometry, or calculus), 3 units of natural science, including two courses with lab components, 1 unit of foreign language, and 5 units of academic courses.

Other requirements that the school might need are your ACT and/or SAT, your high-school grade point average, and your high-school course schedule.

The minimum ACT score for my college is 21 and the SAT score is at least 1240.

Yes, my university offers a post-graduate degree program in the field of my interest. It’s graduate school candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a grade point average of at least 3.00/4.00. Applicants who have not graduated from an engineering program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET must submit combined scores of at least 1195 on the verbal and quantitative parts of the GRE.

UA does offer the a post-graduate degree in the field I’m interested in.

I chose this graduate school because this is the place I originally chose to graduate from, I like what the program offers me, and I think it would really help me in the long run.

Tuition for UA per semester is $3,500.00 and $7,000.00 per year. College/course fees are $350.00 per semester, a Dining Dollars Account is $300.00, the Meal Plan is $1,247.00, the residence hall room is $3,475.00, parking decals are $220.00, and book and supplies are $550.00 for Alabama residents. Tuition is $9,600.00 per semester and $19,200.00 per year. College/course fees, Dining Dollars Accounts, the meal plan, residence hall room, parking decals, and book and supplies are the same for Alabama and non-residents. Football tickets vary depending on the game and where it’s played.

I chose Electrical Engineering because I love dealing with electronics such as computers and video games. I learn from these devices and have fun figuring them out. Also, I would like to be able to help develop some of the newest technology in the world and can do this through this field of learning.

My occupation is about interacting with computers, organizing, planning, and prioritizing work, getting information, making decisions and solving problems, and analyzing data of information.

Some of the typical tasks that the electrical engineering occupation may do are to confer with engineers, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products, to design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes, to operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks, and to direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
D. Briefly list the necessary education, training, and work experience required for your occupation.
The necessary eduaction for my occupation is a four-year bachelor’s degree or higher. The training required in this occupation is several years of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training. The work experience required is a minimum of two to four years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.

The national earnings for the electrical engineering occupation yearly is $ 125,800.00, monthly it’s $ 3,628.80, and hourly its $60.48.

The driving distance to my college is 353.49 miles and the total hours needed to arrive there is 5 hours and 25 minutes.

Applicants who hold the bachelor’s degree in other fields of engineering, computer science, mathematics, or the physical sciences are expected to have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 and a minimum senior year average of 3.0 in that field. Also, all students must file a Master’s Program Plan with the departmental graduate committee specifying which option they have selected, a semester-by-semester schedule of the courses they intend to take, and the members of the student’s master’s committee.
