Owning a business in any economy can be difficult to manage. Everything from providing services to forming a budget includes the use of some form of information system. Club IT is owned and managed by two individuals with college education and first-hand experience. Even with first-hand experience in the business field there will always be room for improvement. Clientele grows and needs more services provided is one example. As an intern to this type of business there is a lot more work. Although from first glance there may not be much use of information systems, every order and every person staffed is ultimately going through an information system. The mission of Club IT is simple. As stated by the owners themselves, "We, Ruben and Lisa, offer you live music, DJ's, dance space and refreshments that suit your lifestyle. You are our friends, and we seek to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT." The mission of Club IT is mainly to target a fun crowd who would become returning customers. Providing a wide variety of music and beverages Club IT would better be able to target large numbers with different tastes. Providing a vibrant refreshing atmosphere is how Club IT gains and keeps their clientele. The main mission is to provide entertainment to anyone with any interests, while providing an upbeat scene. Information systems and technology helps a business rise to the next level. Managing the information accurately and in a timely manner aids the business in success. Any minor detail is large. As an intern the job of managing the information precisely is imperative to the success of the company. Using IT the business will always know exact amounts and dates of shipments and orders. In addition to managing the information systems for ordering and shipping information, as an intern I will be providing help with the intranet. The intranet is what the employee portal is run on. Managing password security and access it the first priority. Employee identification numbers and access needs to be secure. The intranet is also a form of communication for employees. In previous experience emails and chat can be done on the intranet. At a time when the manager is unavailable to come to the floor in aiding in an issue, an employee can access the chat or email to touch base with them. Employee notifications are sent in the emails from the managers and each employee has their own email. Competing in the night club market is difficult. In most areas there are many night clubs and bars competing for the same clientele. Using operational effectiveness strategy the club can reach new levels of clients and still keep the current customers satisfied. Using this strategy the managers can utilize their current resources to maintain stability and to improve on any issues. Using better software for the intranet or updating the band equipment and lighting are ways to enhance the customer experience at the club. Since the club provides live music most weeks, the enhancement in their current equipment will attract better musicians, which in turn will attract more clients. Offering the membership is great. However, trying to maintain the members and add more will take updating current facilities to compete with other clubs in the area. Knowing the needs of the customers and how to enhance the night club experience is the only way to compete in the economy. Continuous improvements in the IT, service, and entertainment departments is the only way to continue to compete. As other clubs get information on this club they will improve. The work within the club is never done for the managers. Having the intern to manage in information form the business will give more time to the owners to be hands on managers. Having more time to be hands on in the club will let them see how to make better improvements. Having previous experience in the nightclub they will be able to pinpoint mishaps and dysfunctions within the club. Using the latest employee portal software will help the employees get the latest information on changes and scheduling so they do not miss on any important dates.
