Club IT is a nightclub owned and operated by Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada. Ruben and Lisa both opened the nightclub after graduating from college with degrees in Business Administration. Opening this nightclub was a dream come true for both Lisa and Ruben. Lisa and Ruben both have nightclub experience they obtained with the music experience they have. Lisa plays the jazz violin and Ruben plays the drums. In addition to their nightclub experience they both have business principles they learned during their Business Administration studies. The owners of Club IT, Lisa and Ruben, run the office and take care of all financial and business related records (Appendix C, para. 3 ) . Currently Ruben and Lisa have completed some extensive remodeling inside Club IT. They have applied a vibrant remodel to its 6,000 square foot space. The remodel done recently has included high vaulted ceilings with high energy lighting that creates a fun and energizing ambience, new dance floor, kitchen, and four pour stations at the bar (Club IT, para. 2 ). Ruben and Lisa hope that with this recent renovation it will attract more customers who could help IT build a community of return customers to Club IT. This is described in Ruben and Lisa’s very simple straight forward mission statement, “We Ruben and Lisa, offer you live music, DJ’s, dance space and refreshments that suit your lifestyle. You are our friends, and we seek to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT.”(Club IT, para.4) Club IT currently hires a variety of different artists to perform at Club IT ranging from Hip-hop and Alternative to Techno or Electronic and they even throw in a little R&B and Country. With all these choices and lively DJ’s spinning the most popular music today and some oldies but goodies there is bound to be a fun, upbeat and exciting show that everyone will enjoy. The music is constantly changing with a large variety to choose from as well as always fun and upbeat. Club IT is open with live bands performing on Fridays and Saturdays and DJ’s on Tuesdays through Thursdays (Appendix C, para. 3 ). The only day Club IT is not open is Sundays. With the variety of music Club IT offers they also offer a variety of beverages and appetizers that is guaranteed to satisfy even the most finicky pallet. The new remodel of Club IT offers enough booths, tables, and stool at the bar to seat 220 people. Club IT has added a large 600 square foot dance floor is conveniently located in the center of our floor plan for those that enjoy dancing. Club IT has a total of 19 high-energy skilled and trained staff members to care for the 220 guests (Club IT, PARA. 3). The staff members are a combination of and include an assistant manager, bartenders, wait staff, stewards, short order cooks, and security. For those guests that would like to purchase Club IT merchandise there is a link on the website where t-shirts, baseball caps shot glasses and mugs are available for purchase. At the present time all merchandise is being offered at a 10 percent discount (Club IT, Merchandise). Club IT has a large variety of clientele but is geared toward young professionals, current college students and local tourists. This type of clientele is more likely to stay and spend larger amounts of money once they get wrapped up in the fun surroundings, music being played and the large dance floor. With word of mouth as a wonderful source of advertisement the customers that do come to Club IT and enjoy themselves are likely to spread the word and recommend others and return with friends in the future. While marketing the tourists they are finding that those passing through the area are likely to tell other business partners about Club IT and recommending they visit when they are in the area as well as returning themselves. Since Lisa and Ruben have started Club IT they are realizing the importance of information technology as well as the importance of information management. Club IT is not a large company and does not have the resources that larger businesses have. Club IT only has one assistant manager that takes care of the majority of the different information systems but they do understand the importance of hiring an outside resource to analyze the need for expanding their current information system. The website Club IT currently has is a basic website that offers simple information the type of music scheduled each month for the year, the current menu, merchandise, staff, the club layout, and an employee portal. The employee portal can only be accessed by the employees with a secure user name and a password. This is a private computer network that uses Internet Protocol Technologies to securely share information.
