Club IT Part One Martha Green University of Phoenix BIS/219 March 21, 2011 Paul Schwartz Club IT is a new and upcoming night club. The owners Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada are musicians with degrees in Business Administration, and have decided to make this club a place for all individuals and lifestyles. However, Ruben, and Lisa are having problems with the information system, and needs to find a resolution for the problem (Wiley Higher Education, 2011). Club IT’s mission is to make everyone feel at home with the music they like and offering them some appetizers to cut down on the affect of the liquor they will be consuming. The clientele is a mix of every type of person. The club offers dance, music, and refreshments that will suit every lifestyle. Club IT is hoping to have a successful business, one that everyone will feel safe, relaxed, and a place that the customer will want to come back (Wiley Higher Education, 2011). Club IT’s information resources are register receipts that shows the owners what the customers are purchasing. This helps Lisa and Ruben to decide what merchandise needs to be replaced such as the different types of liquor, and the types of appetizers that need to be purchased, and those items that they do not need to be purchased. Another information resource is the employees they can tell the owners what the customers are saying about the club. For example, if the customers like the food or music, if the customers like the atmosphere of the club. The customers may even have some suggestions of items that the club may add to the appetizers like sandwiches, or maybe even some flowers, because we all know that women like to receive flowers. When people are drinking he or she will tend to spend more money than those who are not drinking. Ruben and Lisa could consider having a different type of music every week, or every two weeks instead of every month (Wiley Higher Education, 2011). Club IT needs to purchase software called knowledge management system (KMS), in order to gather all the information in one place, which can be accessed by all individuals who are authorized to see this information. The data that is entered there can be processed by individuals making it easier to decide what is best for the club (Wiley Higher Education, 2011). Customer orientation strategy gives attention to making customers happy. Web based systems are for the most part of use in this area because it can make available a personalized, one-to-one affiliation with each customer. This system will allow the club to obtain information on each customer, such as name, address, his or her likes or dislikes (Rainer & Turban, 2008). The kinds of information that Lisa and Ruben need to pursue is first to know the customers. Everybody likes to be kept in mind, valued, and offered out of the ordinary treatment. Knowing his or her customers will help to recognize, design, and carry the things that the customers are looking for because every time he or she satisfies a customer the more likely it is that the customer will come back, and tell friends, and family about the club. The more information that Lisa and Ruben can obtain about the customers, the more advantage they will have to satisfy those customers (Ng-Chee, n.d.). Club IT has a business that will turn a profit because people are always looking for places to go. People are excited when a new business opens in the community. The club is trying to administer to clientele that is made up of people from all walks of life, and from different age groups. Lisa and Ruben started with an information system that was not working for the club, so the suggestion was to purchase a software system called knowledge management systems. The club also needs a strategy for a competitive advantage that has been suggested as customer orientation this will give the advantage of getting to know the customers and what he or she likes or dislikes. Therefore, the more information that can be obtained about the customers, the greater the chance that the club will be successful in any future endeavors. Ruben and Lisa can take this information, and make the right decisions on what would be the best for Club IT. This information may give Ruben and Lisa the knowledge to know if it would be a good decision to expand the club. References Ng-Chee, Candice. (n.d.). “Fundamentals of 1 to 1 & CRM”.
