Club IT Part 1
Club IT is a business that originated through the minds of two people who came together and created the idea of opening a nightclub. The nightclub is owned and operated by Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada, who are also the creators. Lisa and Ruben’s development of the club consists of focusing its appeal to all customers by featuring live music of various genres to keep the customers entertained and the club thriving.
Keys and Tejada are excited about the opening of the club as well as the type of clientele it will bring in. According to Rainer, Turban (2011), the mission for Club IT is to” offer you live music, DJ's, dance space and refreshments that suit your lifestyle. You are our friends, and we seek to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT" Rainer, Turban, (2011). In order to offer the services, certain resources are being utilized to make this ownership become successful.
The main attraction is the genre of music that is offered. Club IT provides music such as R&B, Hip Hop, Latin, Jazz, Folk, Country, and Alternative. Each month it will feature different acts such as Local bands, World DJs, NYC bands, Open Mikes, San Francisco bands, and the different musical genres. The different types of music will set the atmosphere for the evening, which in return will draw the different types of clientele to fill the building.
Lisa and Ruben fully understand that some of the club goers will arrive hungry and/or thirsty; and to satisfy those customers, a menu has been added to the club’s resource. The menu offers an array of appetizers and drinks, just to name a few, Pizza Puffs, Franks In A Blanket, Bottled Water, Coffee, Sodas, and Beer. Food and drinks are a mainstay for clubs and its clientele, which keeps the customer full while being entertained. The club is staffed with an Assistant manager, four Bartenders, six Wait staff, two Stewards, two Short-order cooks and four Security. The staff is geared towards providing the customers with high standards in order to better the clients.
The Assistant manager who is in charge of operations is there to ensure that the services are executed in that manner. Operations also include managing the business stand point, he is able to log in to the system to obtain information pertaining to all staff’s employment, and this is what would be considered as routine reports. The manager is able to view vacation and sick time, wages earned, hours worked, personal information such as home address and phone numbers, email address and where checks are being deposited. The Assistant Manager also receives notification regarding needed information such as the announcement of new employees, employee of the month and so on. The manager also has access to sales for the week, purchasing information, and year-end statement, which is considered the key-indicator report, the financial and accounting processes. In addition to running the club as smoothly as possible, club merchandise is sold to enhance the profits and spread the name of the club to others who have not attended and as a reminder to return for those who have.
The merchandise is sold to anyone who would like to purchase it; however, a 10% discount is given to those who become club members. The merchandise consists of T-shirts, baseball caps, shot glasses, and glass mugs with the club’s logo on front. The merchandise is part of the marketing tool to help get the word out that a new club is in town and it is not just an ordinary club. Ruben and Lisa are hoping to draw a huge crowd and to become well known for its many facets of musical genres being presented; which disregard's no one. Club IT will be known for its wonderful music, the spacious area to include the dining area and dance floor, awesome food of appetizers and drinks, the ambience that sets the mood for the evening, and discounts offered to members when purchasing merchandise of their choice. It will be the perfect place to enjoy an evening of enjoyment and fun.
