1.2 EXPLAIN HOW HEALTH AND SAFETY IS MONITORED AND MAINTAINED AND HOW PEOPLE IN THE WORK SETTING ARE MADE AWARE OF RISKS AND HAZARDS AND ENCOURAGED TO WORK SAFTEY. Health and safety is monitored in the workplace by regular safety checks, gates with locks are used to prevent access to the kitchen where hazardous substance, sharp knives etc are kept. The hazardous substances are also kept in a cupboard which children cannot access. All doors to outside the building...   Health and safety is monitored within the setting by • Daily risk assessments  • Comprehensive policies which may include • Lost child, behaviour ,house rules, safeguarding children and young people, fire safety, emergency cover for medical needs, medical and medicine permission, • Accident/incident record book. • Indoor play area.
