SHC 21 Introduction to communication in health, social care or children's and young people's settings 1.1- Identify the different reasons people communicate' People communicate for a number of different reasons some of which i have listed below. Give information/Receive information Get to know each other To encourage Receive instruction/Give instruction Develop learning. 1.2- Explain how effective communication affects all aspects of work' Effective communication is one of the most important source of my work. If you communicate effectively with children this will benefit massively on their learning and development,and they will become to trust and respect me. Communicating effectively with colleagues will help me to develop professionally in your profession. And enable us to have a good working relationship which will also help the children's learning and development. Communicating effectively with parents will give them the respect that their children are safe when in my care. And to make sure that you listen and understand them. By having a good relationship with the parents it will benefit the children's learning and development. 1.3- Explain why it is important to observe an individual's reactions, when communicating with them' When observing an individual's reactions while communicating it is important to pay attention to their non–verbal reactions such as body language, facial expressions, touch, gestures and voice tone. And verbal so that you understand their feelings and what they are saying. Because different cultures expressions have different meanings. by observing carefully this will help you to respond to them.
