Changing_Perspective

When we talk of changing your perspective, we first need to discuss what the meaning is and to understand the words. The word change – means the act of or the process of altering or modifying a result. The word perspective – means a way of regarding situations, facts, and judging their relative of importance; a mental view or outlook. So, what is this saying' To change oneself on the outlook of life by altering the importance of any given situation, basically to redefine yourself, and the way you look at life. The key to solving a problem is the way you define it. Take for instance a current problem you have in your life that may seem difficult or is difficult solving. Ask yourself this – How can this problem be defined as a financial problem - A health problem A - technology problem – A human resources or staffing problem – A time management problem - A personal problem – A communicational problem – Or even an educational problem. A key example would be this. Let’s just say you are a guy who really wants to be in a relationship, or have a girlfriend; but you are becoming frustrated by the lack of progress in this area. How have you been figuring out, or defining the problem' Is the problem, or could the problem be meeting the right person' How else could you define the problem you are having' Maybe the real problem is in your career, your career forces you to work in a male dominating environment – the problem may be easier to resolve if you worked in a female – dominating environment. Could it be that your hobbies keep you homebound, and alone; so in the course of your normal life, you have to go out of your way to meet people instead of naturally encountering people in the world. Could it maybe be that your communication skills that are poor and you have turned people away before letting them get to know you' Maybe you are putting everything else first in your life, and your avoiding the problem that requires your attention to meet people. Maybe your financial state is lacking, and you cannot afford to go out as much. Have you considered how tackling the problem would change, using one of these alternate decisions' If you were confident in yourself and masterful at your communication skills – Your income was doubled – Your career environment was different – You moved elsewhere – You make this you first priority in your life – You have friends to help you resolve the issues or problems at hand – You read self help books on the subject – Have you considered any of these' Tough problems that are really hard to resolve, knowing one route will be easier to succumb to than another approach. One example would be, resolving many problems just by throwing enough money around. Obviously, money cannot buy everything but it can buy a personal trainer, a housekeeper or maid, a private tutor, a hired personal assistant, a personal coach, and a nanny, etc... If you change a simple perspective, it can open a whole new world of possibilities of solutions. If you consider only one perspective – one way of only defining the problem – you rule out automatically numerous amounts of potentially viable solutions. With a multi – perspective attack, if you blanket the problem, your odds of success increase tremendously. Most of us often fall victim to a pattern of being stuck with a single perspective. An example, if all you had was a hammer, then every problem looks like a nail. My personal weakness is trying to help others resolve their problems – a little T.L.C, and understanding, can go a long way, and help just about anyone feeling down. I sometimes get stuck trying to help solve other people’s problems, when it can easily be resolved another way. Something that would provide that extra push needed so that you can branch out, would be to start thinking through what it costs in terms of the overall effectiveness, it is hard to break that favorite – perspective addiction that you have, but this will help. This approach can also be used with business problems as well, just reframe your current challenges that are big as a marketing problem, a hiring problem, a values problem, a product problem, a product developing problem, a sales problem, a “not firing” problem, and a focus problem, etc… Sometimes you will find that the best solution is a multi – perspective solution. You may see two or three perspectives that are not sufficient individually, but putting them both together to provide a complete solution. If you pull out one of the bigger problems you are having, try and fix it yourself. From different angles you can see what the problem looks like. If you threw money at your weight loss problem by buying a complete gym for your home, and hired a personal trainer, what would happen' What if you formed a mastermind group by throwing people and brainpower at your financial difficulties; what would happen' What about throwing education at your spiritual troubles, by studying the lives of those who you admire most, what would happen' Understand your problems, set up a self help plan that will work for you. This plan should include a carefully chosen selection of change methods that fit your nature of problems. It should also include achievable short term goals. The self help should also include ways that measure your progress towards those goals. This will help you to know what you are working towards. When your work is done for this goal, you can begin to address the next short term goal in the chain of goals to come. This will lead you to your alternate achievement goal. Look back on what you have learned, and explain your problems to yourself, and make the next change. When you look beyond the obvious, you can open up alternative ways of seeing things. As you gain empowerment over yourself, and a different perspective on the world, you also bring a whole new way of living into your life. If the way you feel is empowering, why change it, if it is a perspective of feeling bad, why keep it' Ask yourself if you are pleased with your life, if so keep it the way it is, if not change it to make a better way for yourself.
