Every society and culture has different ways of defining occurrences by the way their own culture or society functions. To understand how the people of one culture interpret a situation or event, one must evaluate the attributes that a culture has. The rituals, customs, ethics and morals that are attributed to the cultures have caused these differences. As I decided on the two different cultures in the world to examine their tradition through various life cycles both male and female, I thought about how impossible it is for two cultures to share a view of the situations. The criteria’s is based on changes as one culture applies their own ideas to the given situation.
The two different culture’s in the world that I have chosen is the culture of the Americans and Japanese. Much of the creativity of anthropology derives from the tension between two sets of demands that we explain cultural particulars. The women provide us with one of the more challenging problems to be dealt with in American. Yet within the universal fact, the specific cultural symbolization of women is mutually contradictory. The father the actual treatment of women and their contributions vary from culture to culture. The social and cultural is range of human potential to women as it is open to men. In fact, it economic arrangement and the societies of every degree of complexity. As for the Japanese culture there are several entirely different guesses concerning the status of women in Japan. The female principle, and yang the male principles are giving equal weight between the importance of sons, and the authority of father in the family show a big emphasize of their principles in the Chinese culture. In the Japanese society we would say that women are a great deal of status in the system.
Based on the behavior, customs and beliefs of each of the two cultures, which is American and Japanese. It’s is known that the personalities and identifies that formed and shaped within the two cultures are very similar. New Year is mainly a family celebration in both cultures. People go back to their hometown or parents home. As most shops and restaurants are exceptionally closed for 3 days, people prepare the traditional eating during this period. In Japan it is known as “o-set chi your”. Also, with in Japanese cultures adult’s days is a celebration of the age for boys and girls turning 20 that year. The coming of such symbolizes mainly the right to buy cigarettes and alcohol legally. but in the American culture the age limit is 18. In Japanese the evening of the first day before the traditional beginning of spring, they encounter a brief rite called “mame-mak” literally known in America as “bean throwing”. These events are conducted at temples and shine’s to drive away evil spirits and disease. Another custom that both cultures celebrate is Valentine Day. In America it is normally only men offer presents on Valentine Day, but in Japan it is the women who offer presents on Valentine Day. It is usually chocolate and is not restricted to their boyfriend, husband, but do any men among friends or colleagues.
As a result both cultures of Americas and Japanese are similar, but are formed in different ways. The Japanese handle their beliefs and custom in a more unique way, where as the American is more common. It is very logically to know that both nation mainly adapt their culture as part of their tradition and hereditary traits.
