The restaurant does well financially but it is difficult to expand to other locations when they are still running and keeping records as they did when it first was established. At the current time they are having a hard time keeping track of their sales as well as the employee’s time and record keeping. This restaurant has a high potential of increasing their profits by knowing how much their expenses are at a touch of a button and easy to read. There is no way to find out in an easy manner what the overall expenses ar. Goals/Scope Find a way of improving record keeping in order to have all of the data at a touch of a button. Rough Estimates We need to have a system in place by the end of 3rd quarter 2013 so that the staff can learn how to use the new POS system and the time keep as well as still having the business open in order for the owner not to lose any business. Risks/Issues A risk might be having slow service while the staff learns the new system and in turn have irate customers and a possibility of losing some customers. Also another risk is that the restaurant could get a bad reputation of having slow service and not getting any new customers. BUSINESS NEED #2 – IMPROVE INVENTORY TRACKING Date Requested Requested By Email Phone CO/CC Business Owner INVESTMENT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION Name Improve Inventory Tracking Desired Start Date 4th quarter 2013 Business Need There has been several times a week that the restaurant runs out of food during the busiest days. Goals/Scope Find a way of improving how inventory is being tracked. With the improvement the restaurant should not run out of food. Rough Estimates We need to have a system in place by the end of 3rd quarter 2013 so that we can train the restaurant manager on the electronic inventory system. The system will reflect the prices and quantities in order to keep track of expenses and adjust the prices on the menu. Risks/Issues A risk might be taking too long to count everything that is currently in house and putting it in the system and my require to have most of the staff help, the restaurant may be short staffed until the inventory is finished. BUSINESS NEED #3 – IMPLEMENT A FAST AND ACCURATE SCHEDULE MAKING SYSTEM Date Requested Requested By Email Phone CO/CC Business Owner Lupita Robledo INVESTMENT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION Name Accurately and quickly make employee schedule Desired Start Date 4th quarter 2013 Business Need The manager needs a system that will not take too long in making the schedule for the staff in order to keep track of everything that is currently happening during the shift. Goals/Scope Put in place a system that will alleviate the manager who is responsible of making the employee schedule, in order for the manager to have time to deal with employee and customer issues as they arise and not get behind on the schedule.. Rough Estimates We need to have a system in place by the end of 3rd quarter 2013 so that we can train the manager to use the new schedule system and fast and effective. Risks/Issues A risk may be the learning curve for the manager learning the new system and getting behind and completing the schedule, and having not enough staff to take care of the shift.
