Bucket_List

Tina G I. Vernon MKT351 28 June 2011 Three things on my bucket list. There are many things on my bucket list that I want to accomplish before I die. Some are more important than others. They range from achieving my college education, seeing the northern lights, and owning my own Harley Davidson Motor Cycle. All of these things will take a lot of hard work and sacrifice to achieve. Currently I am working to achieve my bachelor’s degree. It has proven to be a lot of hard work and has taught me to be more patient, organized, and persistent. This process began by selecting Cleveland State University (CSU) as the school I wanted to attend and by submitting an application. After receiving a notification of acceptance I had to decide on a major. After spending hours on the computer searching out high demand jobs that I would be interested in. I decided to major in Operation and Supply Chain Management. This major seemed to closely match some of my interest and my experience from my former factory jobs. At my first factory job I worked in inventory as the inventory analyst and extended that knowledge into data entry. At my most recent factory job I worked as a stock person in a warehouse where I loaded and unloaded trucks accounting for the inventory that was received and shipped during my shift. With that decision made, I began scheduling classes. Many classes that I took at North Central State College in Mansfield transferred to CSU. After all of the credits had been accounted for my status here at CSU is at the junior level. This means that I do not have as many classes to take to achieve my degree. Graduation should be after fall semester of 2013 provided I can get all of the classes I need to fit into my time frame. After graduation the plan is to take my son, Adam who is also graduating from Mapleton High School in June of 2013, on a dual celebration, a cruise to Alaska. He has wanted to go on a cruise since he was a freshmen and I want to see the northern lights. So we decided to combine the two together. Now there is all kinds of questions to find the answers to. For example, what cruise line should we choose, how many people can go with us, how many ports do we want to stop at, how long can we be gone' There are many cruise lines to choose from like Carnival, Norwegian, and Disney. Each departs from different ports. Depending on what we want to see and how many people are able to go with us, will help us to determine the cruise line we will choose. I have found from previous travels to Seattle and Daytona Beach, that being my own travel agent is the cheaper way to go. It takes hours searching on the computer and months of advanced planning to get the best price on airfare and cruises. Once the cruise line and dates are established, then we need a plan it save up enough money for the endeavor. We have about a year to get the money together, since I need to book the cruise and airfare about a year in advance, The last thing that will happen is to make sure to have a camera and extra memory card to capture many pictures to document this experience. Another thing on my bucket list is to own my own Harley Davidson Motorcycle. I plan to ride out west with some of my friends to a motorcycle rally. Owning a Harley Davidson has been on my to do list for a very long time. Every time I started to have the money saved up something would happen that took precedence over the motorcycle. After saving up the money and buying my bike, it is time to get my learners permit and learn how to ride. This normally takes place on a cheaper style motorcycle. However Harley Davidson has a program where you can purchase a Buell motorcycle to learn on and trade it in on the Harley Davidson of your dreams after a specified amount of time. My dream cycle is a Fat Boy with a purple pearl paint and shadow flames, decked out in chrome, purple neon lights on the wheels, and black leather saddlebags with fringe. So that is what I plan to do, get into the program and learn to ride on a Buell. This would include getting used to riding long distances with my friends that ride bikes. Finally after learning to ride, getting a license, and becoming comfortable riding for long periods of time. I would be able to out to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally with my friends and enjoy all the sight in between. As you can see my bucket list has a wide variety to it. There are needs and wants involved. The need to achieve a good education directly relates to being able to find and have a job so that I can afford some of the wants on my bucket list.
