Women of all ages want to be beautiful and feel that they are worth it. American women have this need to fit in with society because this is what is taught at an early age. Women will buy lotions to lather themselves with because it is not only used for dry skin but makes them feel good and sexy. Women buy makeup to feel beautiful, buy dye to change their hair color and cover up the gray. Most women are afraid of looking older and not being beautiful. There are so many commercials that are specifically for the women buyer. One in particular is L’Oreal Paris. L’Oreal Paris targets the viewer with gorgeous women, some being famous, some are women that can be related to, but both ways they will have the viewer watching and wanting to be just like these gorgeous women, L’Oreal has just grabbed the attention of women all over this country.
While watching “Desperate Housewives,” the L’Oreal Paris commercial came on. Desperate Housewives is on ABC and comes on at 9oclock at night. It is a popular show that targets women. The show is about gorgeous women, women want to be beautiful like them, and have their kind of “desperate housewives” lifestyles. It makes sense to air the commercial during this show. L’Oreal Paris wants the women viewers to see this ad, so the commercial is going to play when millions are watching. L’Oreal
Paris first aired this commercial during the Golden Globes when so many millions of people were watching, smart move for L’Oreal Paris.
L’Oreal Paris uses spokesmodels of all ages to capture every women’s attention; Gwen Stefani is L’Oreal Paris’ newest spokesmodel. The commercial is selling L’Oreal Paris 10hr. Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick. The viewer will see bold, bright colors, reds and whites, and hear “Hollaback Girl,” in the background, one of Gwen Stefani’s songs. She appears wearing a bold red lipstick from L’Oreal’s line of Infallible Le Rouge Lip Color. Gwen Stefani is the perfect spokewoman for this commercial. Gwen is trendy; she is a mom, singer and fashion designer, and she shows that being all those things while being gorgeous can be done, especially if someone wears this lipstick. Gwen uses the phrases, “Grab It”, “Flaunt it”, Do you feel it”, “Wear it”,”Fancy “, “Because we’re worth it”. She says this in a sultry voice, captivating the viewer, getting their full attention. She is also wearing great outfits that women all over would love to wear. The commercial zooms in on Gwen’s lips and her pretty white teeth, attracting the viewer to the lipstick. This grabs the viewer’s attention, having them focused on the lipstick. The viewer does not even know they are being sucked in. The commercial is seductive, fun, and flirty. This commercial targets women, young and old. Who doesn’t want to flaunt it or feel beautiful' All women want to feel good, as women watch this commercial, they will feel the need to go out and buy the lipstick
This ad is sexy and has a beautiful woman in it. The ad also states that the lipstick stays on for 10hrs, which is exactly what women want, long lasting lipstick. They want something that they don’t have to keep reapplying, especially when they go out. L’Oreal does a good job of
reeling in the viewer. Also the music in the background is fun. The song alone, makes the viewers want to keep the commercial on, especially with the technology we have today, of being able to fast forward commercials. It actually makes the viewer want to keep watching and maybe even rewind it, because it is so trendy. Women are going to watch this and want to be just like Gwen Stefani. They will want to look like her and dress like her. The viewer is also going to want to know what lipstick she is wearing, so they are going to search for it. Having the viewer go out looking for it or even go to the website. This is great for L’Oreal because then the viewer is now going to be able to see all their products, maybe see something else they love. Now they have themselves a customer.
Women all over this country see commercials and ads of this nature in hopes of looking exactly like the women in them. The women hear the words and catchphrases, beautiful, feels good and we’re worth it, women want to be told that. L’Oreal is luring the women in with these commercials, showing them that at any age you can be beautiful if you buy these products. The commercials just add to it. Who doesn’t want to be Gwen Stefani, Beyonce, or Eva Longoria' These are the women used in L’Oreal commercials. L’Oreal is using beautiful and powerful women to get viewers attentions, the viewers don’t really care about the product. There could be side affects to using these products, but no one is paying attention because all they see is the fun and beautiful women, someone they want to be like.
