analyze this Analyze This is a comedy made in 1999 concerning a stressed out gangster known as Paul Vitti who needs a Shrink. The opening scene shows Paul and his best friend Dom eating dinner at an Italian restaurant talking about business and threats to their mafia led by Paul Vitti.. The FBI agents were using spies, now new Mafias are showing up everywhere. After the conversation they walk outside and Vitti goes back for a toothpick. Just as he walks back through the door, men from another Mafia drive by fire shooting at everyone outside the restaurant. Paul Vitti was not harmed at all but Dom was killed. The once unemotional italian killing machine could no longer hold back a tear. Vitti's bodyguard, Jelly, happened got into a car wreck earlier that day with a psychiatrist, named Ben Sobel. Jelly suggests to Vitti to go see this psychiatrist because he can’t look or act weak to other mafias. Ben is soon to be wedded to a news reporter, in Florida. The next day Benl is in the middle of a session with a woman until the criminal Paul Vitti comes in and pays off the other woman. Ben recognized Vitti from a news report. Vitti used his intimidation knowing Ben would never take Vitti as a patient so he forced him too. They begin talking in an unwanted session. Throughout the entire conversation Ben tried to seem useless to Vitti but it fails. Vitti feels better about himself already, and tells Ben that he will continue to see him as a psychiatrist. Ben and his fiance travel to Florida to have a gorgeous wedding and honeymoon. But then Vitti shows up and then tells Ben that he is a bad psychiatrist because his relief lasted even less than twenty-four hours. Vitti then continues to find Ben many times no matter what the location or time of day. It was obvious to Ben that Paul was going to do something at the wedding and did his best to prevent that. On Bens wedding day hitman enter Vitti's hotel room, Jelly disarms the hitman and in doing that saves Paul Vitti’s life. Vitti then picked up the gun and pointed it at the man but Vitti became conflicted and emotional. The hitman and Jelly then had a fight; Jelly shoved the man out of the window and into the wedding. After all of the commotion the wedding was cancelled to be moved to a later date. Vitti knew exactly who was behind the assassination attempt on his life, his old friend Primo. Ben suggests to Paul to try and take his anger out on Primo by calling him. Vitti was told to tell him how he felt about what he did without using any threats or anger, but he couldn’t resist the urge and curses Primo out. Upon returning from Florida, Vitti sends Ben a huge fountain placed in their backyard, as an apology. This gift also confirmed any suspicion the FBI had on the psychiatrist for involving himself with the mafia. They are told by someone high up in the mafia that Vitti’s needs to kill the shrink or someone else in the family will. So the take Ben to a junkyard to kill him but Vitti and Ben end up having an emotional conversation about Vitti's dead father. Vitti believed it was his own fault for his father’s death. More assassins come to murder Vitti but he was too emotional to even fight back. But Jelly takes care of them and once again saves both of their lives. Vitti is nowhere to be found and Ben is kidnapped and told that he must take his place in an important mafia boss meeting and fill in for Vitti. Ben fails miserably but Vitti walks just at the right time with an announcement. Vitti explains that he is now leaving the business. He then tries to leave but Primo follows and attempts to kill him. The FBI then show up and send everyone to jail. At the end of the movie Ben visits Vitti who is in jail. He thanks Ben for all that he has done from him. The movie ends with Ben and his wife dancing to Tony Bennet personally as a present from Vitti. In the movie Vitti has psychological issues; he has what is known as panic-anxiety disorder. Panic disorder is an anxiety disorder. It causes panic attacks, which are sudden feelings of terror for no reason. These can happen anytime, anywhere and without warning. You may live in fear of another attack and may avoid places where you have had an attack. For some people, fear takes over their lives and they cannot leave their homes. This disorder is more common in women than men. It usually starts when people are young adults. Sometimes it starts when a person is under a lot of stress this is probably how it happened in Paul Vitti’s case in the movie. Most people get better with treatment.
