Obama has a Dream, Will it Come True'

The final issue covered in this essay is the coverage of pre-existing conditions in the Obama Health Care Reform. President Obama’s reform proposes to offer a “Pre-Existing Condition Patient Protection Act”; This act will prohibit insurance companies from denying an individual coverage based on a pre-existing condition. This act will also make it possible for living organ donors to receive and maintain health coverage. The current health care system has left it open for insurance companies to deny coverage to those individuals whom have donated an organ in the hopes of helping another human live. Live organ donors are often dropped from coverage after the transplant, this is considered a pre-existing condition. When an individual seeks health coverage with the current health care system there is a waiting period he/ she must endure before seeking services for a pre-existing condition, often these waiting periods are a crucial time to receive medical help from a doctor/medical facility. These waiting periods can leave an individual with irreversible damage that would have been treated had they not been required to wait.
Obama’s health care reform could bring a great change to the United States of America, providing millions of American’s with health care coverage that they would otherwise not be able to afford with the current health care system. Affordability, shared responsibility and the coverage of pre-existing conditions are just a few of the variations the reform has to offer, this reform could not get any worse than our health care system is today.
I Have A Dream" - "Yes We Can
“I Have a Dream” - “Yes We Can”
In 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King proclaimed ‘I Have a Dream’ all across America and made history in the civil rights movement against racial segregation. 50 years later, American songwriter Will.i.am assembled ‘Yes We Can’ in support of the 2008 U.S. political campaign of Barack Obama, a black man running for president. These two voices share much in common, yet in the same way have differences. This nation is wounded, and this world is flawed. Can we heal it' Can we fix it' Yes we can. Yes we can heal this nation. Yes we can repair this world. President Obama had dreamt of a nation flourished by justice and equality with millions of voices calling for change, just as Martin Luther King had dreamt of change. The kind of change where men and women alike would not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character. ‘Yes we can’, ‘I have a dream’, they both hold significant ambition and are restated various times to emphasize America’s capabilities. Five score years ago, a great American figure signed the Emancipation Proclamation, yet after a hundred years, the Negro race is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. Martin Luther King was right. After a hundred years, black individuals find themselves as exiles in their own land. Today, things have changed. Today, a black man can run for president without having spiteful glares sent in every direction. Today, a black man run for president, and succeed. ‘We’ve been warned against offering people of this nation false hope. But in the unlikely story that is America, there has not been anything false about hope.’ President Obama has given hope to all Negro men and women through out the nation. The citizens of America wanted change, and had been granted it. I have a dream that we can say yes to justice and equality. I have a dream we can say yes to opportunity and...
