The issue of abortion is one of the most contentious and emotional dilemmas faced by modern day society. Every day, women discover that they are pregnant, and many times these pregnancies are accidental and unintended. I strongly believe that abortion is a woman’s right that should always be protected because every woman should be able to terminate an unwanted pregnancy, alternative ways of aborting are unsafe, and women have their legit reasons for abortion. I have once encountered this experience of abortion, which was a difficult decision for me. One of my reasons for having an abortion was simply because it was unwanted and unintended. This idea is extremely important because I would not want anyone else making this decision for me, and I believe that other women would think the same as well. My concern is if the right of abortion is stopped, how will women deal with the emotional pain of unwanted pregnancies' Today, women are able to terminate pregnancies because they are unwanted, which is why the right of abortion should be kept alive. Here in America, people can do as they please, as long as they abide by the law. This relates to the situation of unwanted pregnancies because women should have the ability to do what they want with their bodies. No woman should be forced to remain pregnant if they don’t want to. In some horrible situations, rape and incest should be even a better reason to protect the abortion right because women shouldn’t be put through the emotional pain and sacrifice to go through with the pregnancy. Rape and incest is Pico 2 already a painful situation to be in, and having an unwanted pregnancy increase a woman’s emotional pain. Sometimes, pregnant women can have health problems, and they don’t want to risk their lives while giving birth. If they do not want to risk their lives, they should have the right to terminate the fetus. If people are given the legal right to abort here in the U.S., the government will have more control over the procedures of abortion. Government can even facilitate that before the abortion procedure takes place, the mother will have to go through a compulsory counseling session, just like how some countries impose on a procedural marriage counseling if one wants to get a divorce. If the mother still insists on abortion, knowing full well of the moral and health consequences of the act, then it is only moral to not deprive her of the right to do so. The government should have no control over one’s choice to abort. Not only do I think women should be able to terminate unwanted pregnancies on their own will, but I also feel that the right of abortion is important because women may think of other unprofessional ways of aborting the fetus. I believe that keeping the right of abortion is very crucial, especially because women could think of dangerous and illegal ways of terminating the baby. In all of these cases, other ways of aborting a fetus could be extremely unsafe. If this right is taken away, more women with unwanted pregnancies will do whatever it takes to get rid of the fetus. This is entirely unsafe because it may result in major health problems or even death for women. One unsafe alternative that women could choose is taking birth control to kill the fetus, which is absolutely unhealthy. I have heard of some situations where women smoke cigarettes, consume alcohol, or swallow poisons to abort. The abortion right is greatly depended on by many women who would prefer to Pico 3 professionally go through the procedure. Without this valuable right, future women with unwanted pregnancies could be at risk. Finally, the right of abortion should continue to be available as a right because all women who desire abortion as their choice has their personal reason for doing so. For instance, it is necessary for the alternative option to be open for less fortunate women who are having a difficult time to support themselves. This goes the same for young pregnant women who are not mature or confident enough to raise a child. Additionally, some women have plans for their future, and having a baby could entirely get in the way. I have a cousin who could not support herself economically, and as a result she had an abortion. I believe that no woman should be forced to continue an unwanted pregnancy, especially if they have understandable and acceptable reasons. This right should be protected for women’s sake. No one can force a woman to have a baby. Raising a child is not an easy task to accomplish, especially if a mother is forced to have it. People need to understand that abortion is an important right for women to have, and it should always be protected. If this right is taken away, women will continue to abort illegally and unsafely. The professional procedure for abortion should be kept available for women who are not emotionally, mentally, and physically stabled enough. Everyone has their own bodies and lives, and no one can tell us that the right of abortion is wrong. Abortion is a personal decision, not a legal debate.
