Crucible Essay Crucible The Crucible is a drama, written by Arthur Miller it tells about the events in a small Purtain community and what happens when greed avenges the small town and Common sense is becomes lacking in some people in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. John Procter is a character in the dramas that are wrongly accused of witchcraft along with many other people. John Procter is a hero and proves it in the story with his actions. The girls of Salem were out one night dancing in the woods. When the Town’s revered saw them in the woods. The next day the girls begin to fake seeing spirts and being attacked by them. John Procter knows the true about the accusations and that they are faking being attacked by spirts to protect themselfs from being accused of witchcraft themselves. John goes to court and confronts the court. John Procter along with Giles are the only people that can see what the witchcraft accusations are really about. In a desperate attempt to prove his wife is innocence John confesses to the court that he knew Abby. John confessed to committing lechery.
