Frankenstein and Technology Frankenstein There is a tight relationship between humans and machines in the book, Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley. I believe one of the main points Mary Shelley tried to get across through this book is that humans and machines are intertwined if not the same. Humans are machines, but not in the traditional sense that we think of everyday. Humans are organic machines made mainly from carbon and water. Machines are made of inorganic and made of metal, wood, plastic. We have hinges and joints, lubrication fluids, different sensors, just like machines. We use electricity to control our movements and thoughts, just like machines use it to control motors for movement and microprocessors for thinking. So humans and machines are basically the same, we just had different creators and different materials.
