How Do Rockclimbers Stick To The Cliffs' INTRODUCTION This project was done to explore and find out just how a rock climber can stay on a flat rock wall. Does it have something to do with their strength and power, maybe their balance and technique, or is it a combination of both' That is why this project has been done. Also, the equipment that has to be used, can aid the climber to reach new heights that were previously an unthinkable barrier. Rock climbing is a sport in which most people are only spectators. It is an extreme sport that takes time, skill, and patience. In addition to all of that, is also very dangerous. On average, 20 people die each year from outdoor rock climbing in the U.S. alone, not including Europe and Asia where it is more popular. So, extreme caution had to be taken while performing this experiment. An expert climbing instructor was there to supervise the experiment in case anything went wrong. Also, a 5 point safety check was undertaken before each climb.
