Playing Pool Is Like Finding A College Breaking starts the game of pool; the balls are tightly compacted and broken apart and scattered throughout the table. When finding a college, breaking is just like starting my senior year. During my junior year in high school I gather ideas about different colleges and once my senior year starts, my thoughts scatter, just as in pool. I start traveling to different school locations and attending college days. This helps show why playing pool is like finding a college. I labeled each pocket on the pool table and showed its resemblance in deciding a college. The pockets represent each college I am considering. If a majority of balls drop into one pocket, then I could say that the college is one of the top colleges I’m considering. The four corner pockets are my top four colleges I want to attend. I labeled the two middle pockets as the non-considering pockets. The middle pockets are also the out-of-state colleges, the colleges that repeatedly mail meaningless letters, constantly send e-mails, and continuously call about open campus.
