Physical Education Lesson Plan Physical Education Lesson Plan Grade Level: 2nd Grade Activity: BEANBAG EXCHANGE Skills: Running, Dodging, Tossing, Catching Equipment: None Supplies: Sufficient number of beanbags (one per student) Area: Grass field Safety Issues: Children should come prepared with close toe shoes. Shoving, pulling or pushing is not allowed. Lesson Objectives: Cognitive Domain: Student will control the ball with their hands as they learn the concept of hand-eye coordination. Teamwork is also encouraged. Psychomotor: Promotes running, holding, aiming, dogging, and, tagging. Affective Domain: Students must use teamwork and strategy to complete their goals. They must be aware of the people which are on their team and the taggers. Introductory Activities: Warm Up & Lead-Up Activities: Open with a variety of arm and leg stretches. Students will from a line and each will be given a bean bag. Instructions will be given on the proper way to throw and catch a bean bag. The students will then practice by pitching and catching to one another and then each student will attempt to catch one handed. An introduction of the game and rules will then be explained. Lesson Focus: Description of Activity: Five children are identified as taggers. The remaining children start scattered throughout the area, each with a beanbag in hand.
