Changing A Tire HOW TO CHANGE OIL IN YOUR CAR 1) Buy a case of (12 quarts) of motor oil and filters from your nearby automotive store. Make sure it’s API (American Petroleum Institute) certified. All oil will say on the label. 2) Put on an old pair of jeans and T-shirt and crawl under the front of your car. You will see a large tank with a bolt sticking out from the bottom or side of it. That’s your oil tank. 3) Put a pan wide enough to hold 4 to 5 quarts of oil underneath the tank. 4) Take off the bolt. Make sure you don’t round the edges on the bolt. You’ll have to use a vise grip if you should happen to do so. 5) Drain all the oil from the tank.
