Cerebral Palsy: The Wall To Normality Today I am going to inform you about the muscular disease Cerebral Palsy, also commonly referred to as CP. The disease affects the muscular make up of your body, it weakens you to an abnormal extent, but Cerebral Palsy mostly affects the brain and the way it sends signals to the muscles that are developed. I am going to inform you of the diagnosis, treatment, types and effects of CP on a child that I have compiled through extensive research and personal experience. My first point is to explain the diagnosis and treatment of the muscle disorder known as CP. My cousin Zachary had shown these symptoms as early as three months. As devastating as it was, the “sooner you see the symptoms the better, because the disorder will be treated earlier” (Scherzer 228). There are many different types of CP; the diagnosis also varies with the types. Some of the “common symptoms include lethargy, irritability, high-pitched cry, trembling of the arms and legs, low muscle tone, poor feeding abilities, seizures, staring spells, and eye fluttering” (About-Cerebral-Palsy 3).
