Ban On Street Games Ban on Street Games Ladies and gentlemen of this council, we are here today to discuss passing a law banning street games. Fairfax city passed one last week under the pressure of the police. I hope we here would come to a better agreement then those of Fairfax, city. This would be an injustice to our children and to this community if we were to pass a law banning all street games. If you look around here in this council many of you might have played in front of your own homes. You might remember playing stick ball, basketball, hop scotch, and jump rope. You may recall the great times we had. Our neighbors would come out to watch us, as they sat and gossiped and got to know each other. It felt like a family. Parents did not worry about where we were, we were not hanging out in front of the 7-eleven or at the mall, smoking pot, stealing from our parent’s liquor cabinet. Many of you are concerned about the safety of our children, especially with drivers rushing to get through the increase traffic. You have also voiced concerns about the noise levels when children children, street, play, let’s, games, playing, kids, front, because, about, safety, parents, out, offended, concerned, traffic, streets, own, might, let, lawns, few, drivers, dogs, community, birds, allow, video, sound, sat, safe, really, punish, police, played, noise
