Communication Media literacy is very important in our society today. This importance stems from the prevalence of media in our society. As much as we, as college age students and older, feel we are surrounded by media, the generations below us will know an even more media saturated society. This fact, though hard to believe, calls for action. I believe part of this action is greater interaction with media in education. If the purpose of education is to give students the necessary tools to function successfully in society, then media literacy needs to be an integral part of education.
