Sex And Gender Sex and Gender The topic that I have chosen for this final assignment is sex and gender. In the society that we live in, gender was and still is a big part of are society. Men and women are still not equal and haven't been for decades but it is slowly changing. It is significant to me how women have been treated in our society. Also, it interests me on how one can get certain privileges by being a certain sex. There is still a conflict on how women are treated and looked at as housewives, care takers, and the weaker sex. To women, television is a gender mirror that has failed to reflect their image accurately (Montgomery 14). Gender plays a huge part of what is supposed to be the man's responsibility and what is suppose to be the woman's role. As a traditional housewife, a woman is expected to keep the house clean and spotless all day, every day.
