Teaching And Sociology: A Vital Connection By examining the way people interact with each other on various levels it is easy to learn important skills that will help me relate to the people I meet in the workplace as well as throughout my life. The past is also a valuable resource for the future, in that by studying past cultures and their customs I can gain valuable insights into human nature. Different people come from different backgrounds, and because of this it is impossible to treat everyone the same. Instead it is useful to have an understanding of many cultures and societies in order to relate to a variety of people. As a future teacher, I will be dealing with all sorts of children from various of backgrounds, and thus will need to be equipped with a strong knowledge of sociology and anthropology. Because I do not know what type of environment I will be working in as an elementary education teacher, it is crucial that I am prepared to deal with any and all types of people.
