Domestic Violence:Faces Of Fear Domestic Violence: Faces of Fear I think I speak for all of us when I say that this video was disturbing to me. You know that it happens, but you’re never sure exactly how often, statistically. It really seems like people want to turn away from it, and act like it’s not happening. It is surely something that people try to not talk about. Any abuse is terrible, and completely unacceptable. When it comes to children being abused, it is sickening. It is hard for me to watch innocent children being abused. They are so helpless. It just makes me very mad. When you are little, you want to believe what adults say. Small children look up to adults. So when they are hurt, a lot of the times, they believe that they did do something wrong. With out professional help, this can lead to life long low self-esteem. It also leads to the circle effect. These children will sometimes eventually abuse their own children.
