Aids An infectious disease can be defined as an illness effecting a human or animal caused by a virus, bacteria, parasite or fungus. They can be spread by direct contact with an infected person or animal, ingesting contaminated food or water, contact with a vector, or contact with a contaminated surrounding such as animal droppings or air. As technology increases and researchers learn, treatment for many diseases is available. So one may ask, why do infectious diseases reemerge' The problem is that some microbes have evolved.
