The money that goes into parochial schools pays for the teachers, maintenance of the grounds and buildings and other things of that nature. Money given to public schools serve the same purposes except with a public school, such as a college, money that is received there is used basically to pay for professors. The moneys that public schools receive have to be rationed out between many schools. They do not know where a lot of their money is coming from other than the money that is allotted to them to keep the school up to par. Meanwhile, with a parochial school they can raise tuition or other fees to get money they need to keep their schools intact. As soon as tax revenues would be distributed to both public and parochial schools equally, I think this would serve as a big problem and higher taxes.
